The old testament is filled with examples of stewardship, good and bad.
Most Christians remember the story of Joseph interpreting pharaoh's dream and winning his favor. The real story was the wisdom Joseph showed in averting the disastrous effects of the famine. He bought and stored huge amounts of grain and stored it, then in lean times, he sold it to the people at a profit.
Burning food to avert a "global warming" induced famine is as foolish as it gets.
