Great stuff, AG!
You and I are on the SAME PAGE with RINO Rudy the Bald Hillary, though you can obviously see I have even more issues with him than you do. But I absolutely agree with your assessment of him as a person, and his performance as a mayor. The guy does know how to grab a hard hat and run out to a photo op. The most dangerous place on the planet: standing between RINO Rudy and the press photogs.
I think I could live with Romney. I like Fred as being the a man who can inspire with plain talk, and gave $100 bucks to his campaign. McCain doesn't want to be Prez; he wants to be crowned Emperor.
My true choices would be Hunter or Tancredo; I don't think they can get the nomination, though. But if one of them ran as a VEEP to Thompson, and that ticket won, well..... happy days could be here again!
I'll be looking forward to your Dem assessments!

And Not One is A Conservative
Rudy is a liberal who just so happens to be in the GOP. He was a great Mayor, but falls short on so many issues (immigration, social issues, taxes) that most conservatives do not trust him.
McCain is too old, too narcisstic, and too unreliable. He's a contraian who enjoyed the Beltway accolades a bit too much, and at the expense of his own party and President. McCain/Feingold was the last straw for Conservatives.
Thompsan is clueless. When asked how he would differentiate himself with the other GOP candidates he stated that he hadn't had time to study his oppostion. Thompsan was given a golden oppurtunity to excercise congressional oversite of our election laws in 1997 but failed miserably. He spent more time backing down to a Democratic minority than he did investigating Chinagate.
Romney -a liberal who must totally revise 30 years of liberal statesmanship and governance in order to get the GOP nomination.
In 2008, we will have had 8 years of "moderate" leadership and we will be the worse for it. The RNC is now more interested in backing liberal GOP politicians than conservative -even in conservative districts. The GOP has fallen flat since 2000. Federal spending has ballooned, the House was lost even in conservative districts, and if you read the papers the South and West are now in play. So much for Moderate Republicans. We are revisiting the 1968-1976 years, where Moderate Leadership inflicted upon us Watergate and Jimmy Carter.
Hillary will win in 2008, and not because she is a better politician than Thompsan or Rudy. She will win because of low turn out. My prediction: Hillary will win 40-45% of the electorate, just like her husband.

JPK: Great assessment
I'm not sure the Hildebeast will win, basically because she's a self-defeating candidate. Her negatives are HUGE.
But then again, the GOP offerings are, indeed, lame.
If RINO Rudy gets the nomination, the Dems win, whatever candidate, hands down. He's just a lib in GOP disguise, and speaking as a conservative, here's what I wrote on the money solicitaton I received from his camp the other day:
"f RINO Rudy gets the nomination of the GOP, I'll vote for his opponent even if the Dems resurrect and nominate Lenin!"
I then enclosed it in their own envelope so they'd have to pay the postage to get my rant.
But I also meant what I wrote. If the GOP nominates him, the best I'll do for them is to abstain or vote third-party. But I'm seriously considering voting for his real opponent just to make the point.
God, I truly hate that guy, and all the pandering and lack of guts by the GOP that his candidacy represents!
