The Democrat's Secret War

Obama grand plan

Obama wants to control all aspects of people lives. Removing the right to carry guns is just but one plan to eliminate the constitution. Obama know he can depend on Pelosi and Reid and the Democrat party to get his agenda accomplished. Once the gun owners are in tow he know he can destroy the Republican party. While welfare is increasing, abortion is being financed and now include infantcide. Google infantcide if you do not know the term, Obama is it's biggest proponent. Our only weapon is the ballot box 2010. We have to tie up democrats in the primary to spend money running prior to the November election. Find a democrat to give the Obamanation a run for their money. Do not be deceived we must have conservatives on the ballot during the general election.

Good Gun Control Idea

Here's a good idea for gun control, although some may think it kind of whacky. How about just enforcing all of the laws that are already on the books in very State ? You know, I mean if you're in possession of a stolen or defaced firearm, you really go to jail. If you use a gun during the commission of a crime you really do the time that's added on to your sentence for using the gun.

Give it some thought......

The Right to Bear Arms

"In a nation governed by the people themselves, the possession of arms to defend their nation against usurpers within and without was deemed absolutely necessary. This right is protected by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution. A gun was an everyday implement in early American society, and Jefferson recommended its use. 'A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun, therefore, be the constant companion of your walks.' --Thomas Jefferson to Peter Carr, 1785. ME 5:85, Papers 8:407

"The constitutions of most of our States assert that all power is inherent in the people; that... it is their right and duty to be at all times armed." --Thomas Jefferson to John Cartwright, 1824. ME 16:45
"One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them." --Thomas Jefferson to George Washington, 1796. ME 9:341

Feds can't protect

The federal government fails to protect its border, and fails to come to the aid of people like Roger Barnett, who is single handedly stopping illegal immigration on his land.

The cities are overrun with crime to the point that children don't feel safe going to school.

By attempting to disarm the public, they also make the weak among us even more vulnerable. How can the elderly and women truly be safe if their guns are taken away? How many times do we hear women getting killed after getting an order of protection?

The government was never the answer. We must retain our rights, or we will lose our Freedom.

Hello

I have guns and I voted for Obama. No one is going to take my guns or yours unless you're breaking the law. If you own fully automatic weapons or easily upgradeable-to-automatic weapons I think you're a psycho who probably shouldn't have a single gun.

As long as we get to kill each other

I feel safe...If it's them against us (gov vs 'We the People') I'm probably slated for terminatation.

Steve - who voted for Obama

You just knew some liberal loon would pretend to be a "gun owner who voted for Obama" and engage in the usual denial ("no one is going to take my guns or yours unless you're breaking the law" - Get a clue, dipstick, when they reclassify your gun as some sort of "bad" gun, you WILL be "breaking the law" - that's the point).

Then of course we get the usual hysteria over "automatic weapons" etc. For his information, over 100,000 Americans DO own fully automatic weapons, up to and including 50 cal Browning machine guns. I guess they are all "psychos" according to Steve.

But wait, how many times have ANY kind of automatic weapons have been used in crime in the last 75 years?

Once - in the 1997 Hollywood bank robbery. And they were felons who were not legally allowed to own any guns at all. Hmmmm, now how is that possible - didn't they know they were breaking the law?

The problem with the anti-gun types is they are always obsessed with guns, instead of focusing on the violent PEOPLE - (i.e. criminals).

The Usual Suspects

Are at it again McCarthy and Schumer with a few more loonies, join and support a pro gun group.

Steve

Is a well known goofy lib-troll.

Distraction

Indeed, this "disctraction" is being used effectively. Patrick noted some examples of what is being done more 'behind' the scenes.

Given your bio, perhaps you can answer a Q for me ... the Preamble to the "Bill of Rights" clearly places those amendments in the context of what the government CANNOT -- they are restrictions on government at all levels here in the U.S. So why isn't the issue of 'gun control' debated and taken to court in that context? Or is it and I have missed it. It's a clear, simpe, straightforward issue.

Great post and thanx.

Your Constitutional Right

It is unconstitutional to impose financial burdens for a law abiding citizen to bear arms by doing so it is restricting a person's rights contrary to the constitution. Federal and State regulations should not be adopted that create a hardship or unreasonable requirements that prevent a law abiding citizen from owning a firearm. by adopting severe regulations and financial requirements is usurping constitutional rights of the Second Admendment of the Constitution, by imposing severe financial and government regulations is just a means of removing firearms from law abiding citizens. the writers of the constitution had no idea as to what kind of arms the future would bring, they were wise enough to know that there would be some politicians elected would interpret the words to fit their agenda and that is why it is phrased as it is. If you are a law abiding citizen a pistol permit should not be required. It is encroaching my right to bear arms. I would like to file a law suit against the states and the federal government which I'm looking into. The old guy
