Mr. Gary, I agree with you on the definition of diplomacy. Diplomacy comes in many forms such as trying to reach across the aisle in Washington to get the Democrats and Republicans to agree. Diplomacy between nations helps foster relationships and even with our enemies. However, when all channels of diplomacy fail such as what happened in Afghanistan and Iraq then the last course of action is with the military. The military resolution is the last option when diplomacy fails. All the noise we hear on the television and even here in the blogs about the lies our government told just to use the military is nothing but nonsense. The only reason why we went to war is because the diplomatic avenues had come to an end.

By the way, your article is a good one to ponder.
