Alas...
...truth is not determined by numbers. If only 1% believed in Creation, that would not make it any less true.
You may enjoy the series I have on the Creation/Evolution issue that started here:

A true Christian cannot believe in evolution.
The Bible says that death is the result of sin. If the organisms were evolved, the early ones could not have died, because they would not have sinned as they would have no "knowledge" of sin.
AND evolution would not have given any glory to God as the Creator ~ so how could one be a "Christian" and believe in evolution?

Facts are important
Interface,
Your argument on the percentages is weak. The percentage of Americans who hold to creation is overwhelming. The science of evolution is flawed and filled with huge holes. It is collapsing in on itself and we will soon see it fall to the wayside and be replaced with the new theory of alien involvement in creating all we see.

You are correct that a true Christian cannot believe in evolution if they want to be biblically accurate. To accept evolution is to undermine the whole of Scripture. If sin did not wreck things than there would be no reason for Jesus to die for the sins of the world. Jesus Himself mentions that the creation took place in six days and He is actually credited as being the Creator in John and in Colossians.
All of creation yells out to us that it was created not evolved. The Genesis record agrees perfectly with true science as well.
