The Government - Not AIG - Screwed Up!

I agre with the author.The AIG people did what all too many human being do when put in a position to grab amounts of money that is incomprehensable to most of the working people.If we waste our time hating the rich we will fail to accomplish anything.The Rich will win in any government at any time in history.They hust happen to be responsible for all the good economic times we have enjoyed more than any country in the history of man. They are guilty of fraud in some cases and should be punished to the full extent of the law.AIG people were given contracts,authored in part by Tim Geithner.Contracts are binding unless ratified brfore payment.The horses are out of the barn,and it now turns out the Democrats wrote specific clauses in the stimulis package to exempt These payment for failure and incompetence to the CEOs and other top executives of not only AIG but hundreds of others as well.Corporate lawyers will have a field day in court because these lawsuits brought by Congress are unconstitutional on at least three levels.It's ironic that the only decent amendment my Senator,Snowe,put in to cap these bonuses at 100,000 dollars.This was at a time when they could legally do this.The Dodd amendment quashed that idea and here we are.Geithner,Dodd and the President knew of these bonuses-could have nipped them in the bud-but decided to reward people who coincidently made big donations to Obama and Dodd.One thing the Chicago politics have taught both Obama and Geithner is pay back your friends and the money will continue to be laundered-er-I mean given back again to you.Dodd had his Zen teachings from a Buddhist temple where a true miracle happened.People not allowed to own material things had a box of five thousand dollar checks.Beats water to wine any day!
