WHAT IS 'NOT' TORTURE..?

I have read recently where a high ranking military member stated that,

( IF YOUR DETAINEE DIES DURING TORTURE, THEN YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG )

That sounds good enough for me. Why are we the only country of any significance playing by the rules?? The Geneva convention is more of an 'honor' system set of guidlines and rules.

Why must we, the world's only 'super power' be concerned about what others think? We have the military might, so with that in mind, other countries should be concerned as to what WE think. We are in the position to make the rules. ....And,..this time they are in ENGLISH.
