McCain and the gas tax

Unfortunately, You and McCain (this time) make sense.

By eliminating gas taxes for that brief period, I'd also argue to drop the taxes until Christmas, our economy would improve beyond belief.

The problem is that the Democrats will not allow it since it would provide the Republicans with the success statistics, and one heck of a plus for the elections.
