is just one more manifestation of the Liberal's unwillingess to face facts about fighting and defeating evil in the world. They want the hamburger, but aren't willing to kill the cow.

The torture here no doubt lies in the unpredictability of when one will be awoken. So actually, alarm clocks for the prisoners would be a giant leap forward toward human rights respectability. ("Okay Ahmed. We'll be back in at 2:00. Would you prefer music or the buzzer? And don't hit the snooze button this time!")

Well, sort of. The torture business is simply a matter of this is George Bush's war. If the left were so keen on protesting torture, they'd be on the other side of the Gitmo fence.
