Not Voting = A Vote for Bin Laden
So, Will You Sit Out The Election?
McCain won't get your vote? Who will Obama? Clinton? Nader?
Look, I understand what you are saying but there's a real problem with people drawing these artificial lines in the sand by not voting.
Are you saying that Clinton, Obama, or Nader are the equivalent of McCain?
C'mon. Write a letter to McCain or your closest Republican Rep./Senator. McCain is willing to cross the aisle to get things done, so he's sure as hell willing to cross the kitchen to be more accommodating to your views, too.
He can't get the message from people sitting in the corner sulking.
McCain isn't the best, or even great, but sitting on the sidelines is a vote for AlQaeda.

Cheap Scare Tactics
When selecting which candidates I will support in an election, it is not enough to determine how closely aligned their views are to mine. I also examine their judgment and ability to make rational decisions, and in this regard, McCain has been a consistent failure.
It is time for Republican voters to show some integrity in their voting, and that may mean sitting this election out rather than settling for whoever the Republican nominee is, no matter how much of a flawed candidate he may be. By refusing to demand better, we will continue to get more of the same incompetence in government. Politicians and pundits alike pay very close attention to all of the factors that go into which votes a candidate receives, which is how politicians are able to pander effectively to politically advantageous groups.

mhu cao,
For Yer information, not voting is just that: a vote for noone!
Not voting is not a vote for someone. That doesn't even make sense.
If the Republicans lose, don't blame those that didn't vote, blame those who voted democrat...and blame the Republicans for not EARNING the Conservatives' votes.

These same people also take notice when people who vote regularly decide not to. If you want some fresh air out of the GOP, then you have to stop inhaling the pollution it's spitting out.
Making a decision not to support McCain for president is not a vote for Al-Qaeda as the neo-con scare tactic machine would have everyone believe. Despite all of his rhetoric, McCain would not be a president who will be able to keep this country safe. His single-mindedness that is bordering on psychosis will only cause more of the same foreign policy errors that have become characteristic of the Bush administration. There is nothing special about McCain's foreign policy that will make America any safer from Al-Qaeda. In fact, his foreign policy is just a continuation of the same arrogant and oblivious policies that led to 9/11.

Outdated Idea
I guess Jimmy Carter and I still believe in this old-fashioned idea that it is not enough to be a member of the right party, but that a candidate should earn his votes through his service record and by consistently demonstrating good judgment.
I guess this logic doesn't apply in this election though. This whole "Obamamania" craze has shown that much.
