The Buck Stops Here

Good Post

I have problems with modern conservatives, as you may have read in my blog, but I am with you that there is still a world of difference between the right and left, and between Republicans and Democrats.

I even wrote this post on why I am Republican and not one of those third party defectors:

http://andrews.blogtownhall.com/2008/12/17/why_i_am_a_repub lican.thtml

For all the problems with modern Republicans, and there are some, about which I plan to write later, they are still much better than the Democrats, and, unlike third party candidates, electable.

Strangely, the last president I agree with even close to 100% is a Democrat, but that was Grover Cleveland, back when Democrats were what Republicans are today.

Rackoons

I do "slightly" disagree with your statement on the WPA and the CCC. They did construct some needed projects. However, you are correct in saying ALOT of it was "makee-workee" and was soon gotten rid of in the 1950's.

Frankly I believe we DO NOT NEED PROFESSIONAL POLITICIANS. And 99% of those in the US Congress are just that. We need people who come out of the private sector, serve one or two terms, and leave.

Rackoons

First, this is a great read and I appreciate knowing your thoughts.

Second, a Buck today is only worth 21 cents.

Third, I have come to the conclusion that the supposed differences between the Democrats and Republicans are based in miniscule degrees of separation only.

Well that's my "buck's" worth.

Thanx for the post!

great post rackoons

It took almost a century, but we are about to become complete slaves to government.

Obama hates the rich and hates the white people. That is apparent. (Which is funny because he is rich and 3/4 white.) At the NAACP Anniversary he once again contradicted himself by saying that he encourages blacks to work hard and succeed...which is exactly why they need MORE GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS TO HELP STAY EQUAL!

Say WHAT??

They are a few months away from making it so that success isn't something to achieve. Why work when over half of your income is going to people that don't want to work?

Mike Huckabee said it best at the RNC last August:
"I'm not Republican because I grew up rich. I'm Republican because I didn't want to spend the rest of my life poor, waiting for the government to rescue me."

Gray Ghost re: prof politicians

I was thinking about this today while watching Glenn Beck...

Congressmen and Sentors shouldn't get paid. They should have to work regular day jobs and have their time legislating restricted (As Mrs. AL has stated over at my blog I believe).

We'd have people doing a more honest job if their weren't so many perks...ya know. Like voting yourself a raise.

U. S. History 1A

Another good lesson--we need an ever-growing knowledge of our past to see clearly what's up ahead. Unfortunately, many of those who govern this country seem unwilling to listen.

Passing The Buck

Just the other day, prezbo told everybody to "buck up" and pass health care, RacKoons. He had a little tantrum and said he wants it NOW! It is always all about him. I feel sorry for his wife (not much) and his little girls (a little) to have to live with his ego.

The MSM needs to be held completely responsible and accountable for the lack of vetting and fawning over the fact prez can read well. I also agree with Gray Ghost`s remarks that we do not need professional politicians! Term Limits! Also, Senators Byrd and Kennedy are very ill and should be forced to resign. What koolaid am I drinking!

Thanks for a good read about Give em Hell, Harry, RacKoons! He was one of a kind.

I think the Buck stops here is now the Buck comes here. I'm tired of overspending on ideals that we know will fail, or has failed in previous years in this or other countries.

THE BUCK JUST GETS PASSED ALONG

The difference between FDR and Hoover then and Barry now is that he is accomplishing exactly what he set out to do. None of what he has accomplished thus far was due to any inexperience it was accomplished with a very dark sense of purpose, and Marxist purpose. He is a radical for sure, and one who knows all about idea about what free enterprise, libertarian, Constitutional rights, and military power are all about. That's why he is so determined to destroy everything. Because they must all be destroyed in order for him to continue dragging us down the road to Socialism.

Obama's Inexperience

You mention that there should be no more excuses about Obama's inexperience. I really do not hear anyone mentioning this mans inexperience, even during the campaign. I still think most people actually believe he is still doing a good job and are not giving any excuses for his socialistic agenda. Hopefully, the honeymoon ends soon or he will most certainly doom America.

The City Built on a Hill

collapsing in ruin is OBAMA'S GOAL!

JFK would be on the RIGHT side of the GOP today, which is telling in and of itself.

Interestingly, the carriers that I have been to sea aboard were...JFK, Eisenhower, T. Roosevelt, Washington, Truman, and Reagan..all of whom would today be considered right wingers.

Ya know, rackoons, the US of A was a

helluva experiment. There was a whole lotta inventin' and innovatin' and creatin' and developin' and producin' and bootstrappin' and winnin' and losin' and givin' and takin' and workin' and playin' a goin' on 'round heah!

Party's over, exit stage right, fade to black. I think in the darkness I hear Madonna singing, "Don't cry for me, Argentina . . . "

Hope fades in the light of The One

Every now and then, my optimistic side says there is a chance to stop the coming train wreck. I hold excited anticipation as I see a dedicated few attempting to apply the brakes. Then, I witness throngs gather to hear his words.
Those all have a familiar continence of expectation - the same look I saw on those sitting on rooftops after Katrina. They are waiting for the government to help them as the flood waters rise. The thought of taking those school buses, sitting in that parking lot full of fuel, and saving themselves escapes them.
They have grown so dependent on the government for everything in their daily lives, even their survival instincts are ignored. Waiting for the government to act for them is all they know. They would rather chance drowning than act on their own.
