Sometimes, The Business Folks Are Blind
I believe in free enterprise, but I wish some of these free-enterprisers would stop talking as if the American economy grew without the support of workers and consumers. People in the market would'nt have made jack-crap if it wasn't for the productivity of the workers and the spending of the consumers. Economics is not brain surgery. Businesses don't make money if the people don't have money-point blank. The American economy became powerful only when the middle class grew...
We are in a financial crisis right now. Although I don't support socialism (a word only used when referring to the people, but not the moneymakers on Wall Street who are willing to take the government's bail-out package by the way...)

I still think that our leaders may do something drastic to get us out of this mess. It may be radical, but right now it is what we must do if we want to keep our financial dominance in the world. We may have to give the money back to the people (go socialism for a time) as FDR had done to get us out of the Depression. Once things are going good for the people, then the political winds may swing back to the conservative camp. But right now, we no way need trickle down economics. The greedy people have screwed us all.

You Don't Raise Taxes in a Recession
Perhaps Obama didn't pay attention to what sunk Hoover just as he claims he didn't know about Ayers. Yes!!!! I totally agree on the accomplishments of the American worker....but everyone is an American worker of some sort and those who started businesses from nothing and created opportunity for others should not be looked down upon. Greed and corruption are not honorable, but enterprise is.
Every time we have gone through hard times, we got stronger. It's time for the American people to rise up and take control of this situation. There's a role for government but government is not the answer ---- it is us!!!!.

Hogwash
"There's a role for government but government is not the answer ---- it is us!!!!" That's a slogan. You need to look at the hard numbers and read your economic history, and not subscribe to ideology. If government had not intervene in our economic crises, the country would have went under in the 1800's, the 1890's, the 1930's, and hopefully the 2000's. These were four periods where the government had to "bail" out the economy because of greed and corruption from the free market. And what is the "us" you referring to. I hope you mean those who support Obama, because the "us" is going to throw these Republican bums out for running the country into the ground with their "hands-off" approach.

And more hogwash
Obama's tax plan is going to go back to the tax rates of the Clinton era. How is raising someone's taxes who make over $250,000 by 5% going to harm enterprise? No company had to close its doors because of a 5% increase. That's ridiculous! If they had, then they were not much of a business in the first place.
Plus, during the Depression, there were more people committing suicide because of the economic situation--the "us" you infer were too demoralize to do anything to change their situation. It wasn't until FDR "government" run programs that put people back to work gave them the confidence to believe in the country again. You need to go out and actually talk to the people like I have as I campaign for BO. They don't give a shiggity about ideology.

Response to My Blog
You commented on my blog "Rasing taxes takes money out of the economy, period. If you raise business taxes again then you will continue to encourage businesses to move out of the country and we have had enough of that I am sure you would agree. What you want to do in this country is encourage capital formation by those who have the ability to invest - in America."
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN FOR THE PAST EIGHT YEARS? BUSINESSES HAVE HAD THE LOWEST TAX RATES IN YEARS AND YET THEY STILL SHIPPED JOBS OVERSEAS TO MAKE MORE MONEY. YOU SPEAK FROM IDEOLOGY, NOT THE NUMBERS.
