On Dignity

Proverbs 15:33

"The fear of the Lord teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor."

One of my favorite verses. Kinda keeps things in perspective.

Ken

Do what you want to on your own blog. :-) Ask Reck where to find my own blog where I do my own thing. ;-)

RecknHavic

Where is Stan's blog where he does his own thing?

Stan's Blog

Should warn you that Stan's blog "The Blogosphere Starts Now" is kinda a parallel universe to the TH blogs. You should ck it out. For as agnostic, extremely liberal, Obama supporter, he's actually a pretty decent guy. Ya know, if you can get past the whole agnostic, liberal, Obama supportn thing.

To find it go to my TH blog, bloggers section of blog roll, click on TBSN. But, don't forget to wrap your head in duct tape; just encase it explodes.

I agree with "RecknHavic"'s choice of Proverbs 15:33.

All wisdom starts with "the fear of the Lord", and the "Love of the Lord".

I got tape, it's dark out and I'm wearing sunglasses...

Thanks

It's always good to get your input.

Shades

You're a brave man Ken.

Oh, don't forget to shower afterwards.

I have another article up concerning my on-going study of Pakistan, which I believe will be the next "hot" spot.

Drop by if you get a chance.

"we can clearly see the dignity of our brothers.
...
We can see others as God sees them."

Good job. I think of this as a founding point of conservatism. That we ALL are created equal. That we sometimes succeed is a reflection of God. That we often fail is a reflection of our own shortcomings. It is a celebration of man, as a creation of God.

Thanks for the visit and kind assessment!

We Too Can See

The 'Flip-Side' of a man's undignified actions to a degree that most surely mus be invisible to the practioner of the action(s), lest he otherwise repent.
We may not be able to identify Demons/Angels or Saints/Sinners with the first handshake, we really cannot judge a book by its cover.

But having been granted a gift from God we have the ability to discern good from evil, to at least a moderate degree. It is the very same gift He gave that allows us to see the dignity in 'everyman'. That can always be accomplished before that first handshake.

But a man's words & actions gives us the impetus to tap into our gift. It was His way of protecting us when He couldn't be giving us His undivided attention. Call it self-defense for the everday life of the everyman. Call it what you will but use it!

Because words & actions reflect intent, seperating good from bad becomes an easier task when a man or woman devulges their 'plans' for the future. It is this point when we can admit the book has been opened and, we are obliged to read between the lines.

sans pareil

You are dead on.

The idea that dignity is an ingredient is proven by the anmonition to "love the sinner, hate the sin".

Thanks for stopping by.
