Heritage

How great it is to know your heritage. I have family in the valley as well, just outside Harrisonburg.

Beautiful places, there.

That was a great trip

I envy you being so close to all the history that is back East.

I bet it was

Do you get down this way often?

I saw over at Squids

You have a son going to Purdue.

I went not to far from there.

Indiana is a good palce.

I wish I did

We had a few years when things were going pretty well financially when we took the opportunity to get some really good vacations in.

We took a road trip in the car from Utah all the way to Corinth Mississippi and saw LDS and non LDS historical sites. Saw Shiloh Battlefield, Had my son (the one going to Purdue) jamming with a jazz band on Beall Street in Memphis, saw Lincoln's home in Springfield Ill, and the place where Joseph Smith was killed in Carthage, Ill. etc.

Then we took the Virginia trip I described.

After that we took A trip to Upstate New York and saw Niagra Falls, Fort Ticonderoga and Saratoga Battlefields from the Revolutionary War, as well as the Sacred Grove where Joseph had his Frist Vision and Kirland Ohio where the Church was headquartered for a time.

Then we got to Cancun, Mexico, and saw many of the Pre-Columbian ruins at Chichen Itza and Tulum. Noted with interest. the Tree of Life motif that is used by the descendants of the Mayan people, and the legends surrounding their Gods.

Then we visited the Boston Massacusetts area and saw where the Revolution began. Saw Lexington, Concord, Bunker Hill, the USS Constitution, Mystic Seaport, and lots of Family Kistory.

When we moved to Las Vegas my wife was now without a job and our house payments went up. Then we had two weddings in three months, then we have had the various problems that I have told you about with our son-in-law etc so our trips have been a little less ambitious lately.

We did get out to see the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library earlier this year and got to tour Air Force One. That was a real thrill. Ronald Regan was definitely put by God in the right place at the reight time.

We are sure the kids will do well in Purdue. I hope to go back and see them sometime in the next couple of years.

Cousin

Aloha, cousin. I too am related to Enoch Bland, several times over, but directly through my great grandmother, Lettie Catherine Seeta Bland, whose father was Pleasant D, and his father was Enoch. My ggg grandmother was also Enoch's first cousin.

I live on Maui and will be in VA in a few weeks. My schedule allows me one day to visit Pendleton County and I was really hoping to find some cemeteries and other site of relevance. I am looking for a monument to ggg grandmother Phebe Bland Warner, and a United Brethren Church founded by her father-in-law, Zebedee Warner. I am looking for information on the Dolly Path.

Any information you could share that might help us in our trip is greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance!

Mahalo nui,

Kellee Warner LaVars
