Hey Nonny. You forgot Barney Frank. He has been promoting "affordable" housing for years and has led the charge to stop the oversight of the Macs. Jimmy Carter actually had a hand in the very beginning of the problem. While I am not willing to blame him for this, I do think it serves as a useful reminder for our lawmakers and executives that the decisions they make today can have detrimental impacts years and decades in the future. Heck, we are still paying for the Great Depression and the New Deal policies. I heard today that Buch tried not once or twice to warn Congress of the danger a housing crunch could cause, but 12 or more times. Still, I agree with you. he should have gone directly to the people to tell them where the bear sh!ts in the woods. But then, GW is no Ronald Reagan.
