Apparently the blindness has infected the entire administration.

The President does appear to be an atrocious judge of character, at least as far as Czar Ivan Putin is concerned.

Isolating Iran is not going to happen. Russia needs the market and the PRC needs the oil. Heck, France needs the market. These are willing to subvert the long-term interests of responsible nations in favor of the short term desires of dictators and kleptocrats.
