Remembering Dearborn
Dearest Spin,
I read here in this 'great room' at my laptop(still slightly sticky from latte spew)as son tumbles under legos and think of 'reflective reposing'---I dunno if it includes the lego depth charge Gabe shoved into my back, and his three cushion leap, shoulder roll, followed with bellow: a volume level that rattles my retina loose.
Aside the lovely wind down here at Chez Gabe, after dinner and Disney channel, I think of being a child: my roots Dearborn, MI. When bussing began, my parents had had it and moved to Phoenix. A small businessman, he saw the union machine; we all know that the town of my childhood is essentially gone. Now it's sleeper cells where I played hopscotch.
While Henry Ford's horrid politics can be blamed for some of the evolution there, the unions' hold and squeeze underscores it all. The entire economy dies as you noted and no one wins.
I had not considered the Fascism play- if so dear Spin, what can YOU do really when the power grabbed is a grenade in the invisible hand? Do you jump on the grenade or help pull the pin?
Now back to the rhetorical Q of my poser status:
I suppose I trade sleep for said posing. The right of all moms is hide out time at night. Best reflection done within maximum bubble ratio to hot water :-) UC Spin - I am not of the true intellectual logic mind of your world and kind. Me I'm of the emotional filter to it all. So under bubbles I think about life, death, fear, the past, a future I cannot see, God, my catholic guilt... but mostly when I am deep in thought of calm and the quiet hot water--- I think about--- vacuuming.
