The Smartest Amongst Us?

My favorite are the academics themselves. Every year around September, like clockwork, the NYT runs an article that compares teachers salaries to the salaries of "other professionals". This opens the gates for teachers to start whining about their allegedly paltry salaries and the follow-on arguments about the "low regard that society holds them in" and the questions about "how qualified we would want the people instructing our children", etc.... Hits my gag reflex every time. Are they so stupid that, en masse, they woke up one day in what they feel are underpaid careers? They had no hand in making the choice - Oh...maybe it used to be lucrative until GWB came along with the "No Child LB program". Please...spare me.
