Reading the blogs , news media on Obama stories

What a heavy-handed time we are living in. The cable news channels grind it out like sausage, with "experts" yammering sound bites that are forgotten by the next time segment.

I thank God that I still live in a free country where everyone can toss in their two cents, but I am also grateful for the quiet times tending a newly planted vegetable garden. I also keep my 1945 Scofield Bible nearby to read out loud ('meditate' according to Joshua 1:8) and for general study (personal edification). If I didn't have these wonderful exceptions/diversions to the ever-maddening world, I think I would be living at the local laughing academy.

As I mentioned in a previous posting, prayer and fasting are needed--especially now. Even the GOP does not have a certain nominee--we are all just a few heartbeats from eternity and all our times are in the hands of the Lord. As we pray for our nation, and we should daily, one prayer could be this. 1. Pray for something Christ-like to come out of the Pope's visit to the USA. 2. Pray that voters will see the reality behind the empty suits who are running for Prez or any office in the House and Senate. 3. Pray for Bush and our military and domestic protectors who keep our nation as well as the ME free from Islamofascists. The act. Write letters, blog, sign petitions to protect our nation, the church, and freedoms in the USA that are being threatened.
