It must be terrible to be a liberal !

Nuclear energy is far from clean. It's by-product is mounds of nuclear waste that needs to be disposed of somehow. Currently, we put this waste in "unleakable" toxic waste dumps. These dumps do leak eventually and the stuff that leaks out ends up in the groundwater. Also, nuclear power plants can have explosions like the ones at Chernobyl and Five Mile Island. The people and animals of those areas and other less famous disasters are still feeling the effects of the radiation. The ground is still contaminated with it. I'll take a fireball and a little black smoke from an exploding coal fired plant any day. I'd also rather risk causing "global warming" which may or may not exist than to risk contaminating my soil, water and everything else around the plant or waste dump with stuff we Know is harmful.
