The Dems Don't Want to Talk About the Issues.

They are the masters of...

Imagery, albeit fresco imagery... at a distance, they may appeal to a great many, but upon closer examination, they not have nothing... it's what they borrowed from who and how to get what they do have. If they have nothing, they cannot offer anything.

Remember they are the minority party. Only a few of their more leftist ranks share their true colour view. So in order to pull the wool over someones eyes, they have to lie and keep them at a distance; so no one get close enough to notice what you're being robbed of. This is similar to a blog I posted afew days ago regarding the internal struggle in the GOP, and what it is going to take to get back on track. Sad to say.. but at least Repubplican have a template to start from.

Good Blog.

"how can we fool 'em today?"

Did you break into the lockbox and take a peek at The Plan? Good thing they didn't catch you or Foley would be shoved aside and we'd be dealing with Sheilagate.

Is that the same lockbow...

...that contains Clinton's cajones?

Every point...

you made and everything you said is right on the button, including that we are the better party. An irritation to me over the past year is a Republican disinclination to fight back. We allow the Dems attacks and lies to go unchallenged as they pursue their only goal, gaining power above all else.
Next, I believe the GOP really dropped the ball on illegal immigration which has angered many people in our core base. I am going to vote, and my vote will be Republican...however, I think we have to organize the best get out the vote campaign that we can muster or we could be in trouble.

Excellent post, Sheila

That Darn Republican

Masters of imagery...that's about it...good point...

Thanks for the comments! I'll check your links!:)

Cynewulf

The lockbox...I'm laughing...yes, the buried lockbox that hasn't been excavated yet...

Ha...Sheilagate...it could happen...but I doubt they're reading my blog...I'm laughing...too funny.

Thanks for the laugh!:)

Jimmy Carter

"Lockbox that contains Clinton's cahonys?"...I'm dying laughing...a relic indeed...still laughing...you and Cyne have me in stitches...:)

Grampus

Yup, it's a challenge, but we can do it! We need to really work hard to get out the vote, and like you say we can't let the dems get away with their no-plan "attack mode". We have to fight back!

Right on Grampus! Thanks for that!:)

Imagery..

Lol, thanx for the comment, but it [to me] summed their graphic artist as social engineer politics... lol!

Thanx!!!

-That Darn Republican

That Darn Republican

Yes, your point is well made...love it...;)

Thanx... Your were right...

To point out the divisive ignoring of real world issues that the left cannot respond to as they are a part of the machine that is trying to tear us apart.

Great commentary...

-That Darn Republican

I slightly disagree

It's not that they don't want to talk about the issues.

They don't want to talk HONESTLY about the issues. They're happy to talk about the issues, particularly when they can determine the topic, or change or distort the answer to a question in a way that switches the conversation into their talking point arena.

"What do you think about the War in Iraq, Senator?"

"Bush lied, people died. And all that bombing is leading to global warming, the biggest threat to the world blah blah blah..."

I think they have a plan for the country

but its so ridiculous when its put forth they can't do so and win elections.

The best strategy is one often used in sports: attack and pouncing on the other sides mistakes. By constantly attacking, the pressur is always on the other team. By pouncing on the mistakes, the pressure will usually leave quite a bit open.

Unfortunately for them, it always leaves counter attacks open. Can we counter and do they have enough to stand on?

BrianR

Intersting point...

It seems to me their focus right now is on dividing the republican party, by playing the scandal card...attempting to put the republicans on the defense...though I'm thinking this strategy may back fire.

You're right in terms of how they frame their arguments, they aren't honest, and they resort to distortions, and can't really verbalise their position beyond their talking points...and they always manipulate the subject around those talking points...

Let's hope their talking points miss the mark and they lose big!

Thanks for checking in! I appreciate your thoughts on the subject!:)

justaguy

Good question..."can we counter and do they have enough to stand on?"...That remains to be seen.

I like your sports analogy...I'm thinking they may have used the wrong play...

I guess we will see how the game ends on election day...

Thanks for stopping by and commenting! It's always good to hear your perspective!:)

And Yet

I heard on Lara Ingraham this morning some guy from newsweek sayign that a recent poll shows the majority of Americans beleive that the Democrats would safeguard American values more than republicans.

The only thing more astonishing than the democrats utter lack of ideas, ethics, principles and character...is the fact that most Americans seem oblvious to it.

Prysson

Go figure...

We can only hope on election day people will do the right thing...

Thanks for stopping by, and commenting!

Bear in mind the old saying

"All politics is local".

People may hate the Rep OR dem party, but they'll still vote for their own Representative as an individual.

"The Republicans have turned into drunken sailors chasing young boys, and they disgust me!

But, I sure do love old Joe, who happens to be a good Republican, so I'll still vote for him".

This whole Foley thing, and the stupid pollsters, mean nothing. The only poll that counts takes place on the first Tuesday in November.

Brian

I totally agree!...Well, it will be interesting to see what happens...:)

Great post!

Right on target. I just can't believe that Republicans would fall for the Dems dirty tricks and stay home on election day.

It happened with Bush's DWI and we can't let it happen again.

What sense would it make to let Pelosi be the new Speaker, just because there was one rotten Republican Senator? Pelosi marches with the NAMBLA folks in the gay pride parade in San Francisco every year. They are the "Man-boy love association." She supports the rights of men to have sex with boys.

Pelosi walks with NAMBLA????

How sick.

Not only does NAMBLA advotace pedophilia, it advocates ways to avoid getting caught.

Cutting and running from the issues

Good post. Well said. In answer to the question:
Will the party of cut and run divert the nation from the dangers we face in the world, while dragging our nation through the gutter? My answer: of course, that is what they do best.

Sandra

I hope we don't go down in history as the "dumb" party that turned our country over to the "blame America first" crowd...

We know how the dems would have reacted if Foley had been a democrat, as you've mentioned in your blog... he would have gotten a standing ovation, and been re-elected.

Amazing about Pelosi...marching with perverts...

Thanks for stopping by, Sis!

justaguy

Yeah, disgusting...I wonder how Pelosi would try to change the laws regarding NAMBLA if she were Speaker Pelosi?...

Great to hear from you, justaguy!

Thanks trv

It's sad that it has come to this.

I wonder if this is the future of the democrat party...will they ever have a majority of people of character like Zell Miller, or will they all be Pelosis, Hillarys, Kennedys, Kerrys, Franks, Studds for the unforseen future...it would really be ugly if they were in the majority...

Thanks for stopping by with your thoughts on the situaton...

On topic quote of the day

Thomas Sowell must read your blog. From his latest: "You may deserve whatever you get if you vote frivolously in this year's election. But surely the next generation, which has no vote, deserves better. " http://jewishworldreview.com/cols/sowell101006.php3

Scatbug

Ha...I wish...:)

Thomas Sowell is eloquent in his appraisal of the frivolous reporting...I also fear for the next generation if we are frivolous voters...

It's a little scary...

Thanks for checking in!:) And for the link!

On topic Quote #2

In case anyone hasn't had a chance to get to The Corner yet today (because naturally, you'd come here first!) here's Bill Bennett http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZTA4MzliMDMxZWNmNmUyYjhiNzcxNGQ5MjE5NTYxMDA=

Scatbug

Gosh, I'm so excited to be getting so much confirmation from the big guys...ha!

Maybe the "stay home" crowd will listen to Bill Bennet!

Thanks...:)Good work!

In response to all this....

...I think those on tv and those in the papers want you to believe there are a significant number of upset Republicans when really there isn't....President Reagan's "shining" example: Optimism.

Dr. Sowell is masterful.

Hey Jimmy!

You mean I don't have to be depressed?...):

Some of my fav bloggers are giving me doubts...

I hope you're right. I think we're smarter than that...

aren't we?...

They don't have any

The only issues they can talk about is/are Bush is bad, the Republicans-tax cuts for the rich. They have no issues.

Your Blog Rocks!

You have such a clear way of putting things...I will be spending a lot of time reading your blog...keep it up!

jevica

Thanks for checking in! I have hopes that we will see a new motivated republican leadership after we defeat the dems! I think people are sick of their continued denigration of our president, our country, and anyone who doesn't think like they do!

Good to hear from you!:)

Mr. Baseball

Hey thanks man! I appreciate that. I'll be checking in on you as well!:)

I'm hoping for a landslide in the upcoming election to teach these leftists a lesson...:)we need a big majority so we can continue the conservative agenda and get things passed!

Thanks for stopping by!:)

The secular progressive plan

Platitude after platitude after bromide after cliché…ad nauseam.

Kerry says he’s getting that feeling that a guy’s gotta’ feel to run again. (barf)(but could we ask for more?)
gm

Keep the tax cuts

For one thing if we want to be sure the Bush tax cuts are gone vote Democrat.

How anyone can think that increase in taxes can keep the economy going then vote Democrat.

I guess some colleges teach strange economics in school.

Thanks for comment

Sheila's High Traffic Corridor

Holy Shamoly!!! Sheila, your place seems to be the place to be. Your post is always great stuff and SO ARE THE COMMENTS AND DISCUSSION THAT FOLLOW. Keep up the great work.

Galensmark

Yeah, did you hear him on Maher's show saying he wishes he had "killed the bird in 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. with one stone"...not an exact quote, but on those lines...this was supposed to be cute and a joke...

This is a scary man, think of how the MSM would have reacted to a Republican Senator saying such a thing about Slick Willie...resignation time!!!

Yes, "the secular progressive plan"...the one that would get rid of the blogs, anyone opposing the MSM i.e. Rush, talk radio, the internet...if these losers ever were in control of both houses, and the White House, it would be over...

Thanks for stopping by!:)

jevica

Great article on your blog...wish I new how to link...I'm not a computer geek...wish I were...anyway, you did an awesome job, and it just goes to show...the economy is humming right along, and the tax cuts are creating revenue...gee...isn't it surprising what conservative ideas can do!

I'm with you...keep the tax cuts vote republican!:)

Thanks for checking in!

trv

You're so funny...Holy Shamoli...I'm laughing...
glad you stopped by!

Anytime the dems are the subject, it seems everyone has an opinion...usually not good...:)

We can't afford to turn things over to these blame America firsters...it wouldn't be a pretty picture.

Glad to hear form you!:)

Ya got me all worked up with...

"Will the party of cut and run divert the nation from the dangers we face in the world, while dragging our nation through the gutter? Will the Left manage to fool the republicans into turning back the clock and losing the gains we've made in such a short time? We must stay the course. We are the better party. We must take the battle to the enemy and win."

CAN I GET AN AMEN?!?!

AMEN!!

"Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition..."

gregmc

I'm laughing...

Good to hear form you...:)

Jimmy Carter!

Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!

Four more years, four more years, four more years!...:)

Amen and Amen!

Nice of you to take time away from your new resposibilities and stop by!:)

Great discussion!

The blog and all of the comments are great...

Plan, what plan?

They don't want to talk about issues because they CAN'T talk about issues. That would require the ability to reason and articulate a position. They're so busy feeling that their reason muscle has atrophied. They need years of rehab before they'll be able to contribute anything substantive to our national discourse.
