Where is Our Daniel Hannan?

Sgt Relic -- Here Here

What a great video and thanx for posting this!!!

I have to say, when I saw Representative Bachmann from MN question Geithner and Bernanke yesterday, I will impressed. If I could figure out how to isolate her Q & A of these ... people ... I would post it. Alas, am 'puter inept.

Thanx again for posting this and I have to agree, where is our Daniel Hannan -- especially here in VA.

ooops again

should be "was impressed," not 'will impressed.

Everywhere you care to look

From sea to shining sea the conservatives are amassing like I have never seen in my 55 years.Glen Beck and Rush speak with the biggest megaphones but no more passionately than a hundred million of us out here.May 15,national tax day,a tea party in every state is being organized.Find out where yours will be and go!Make a sign scream bloody murder"we aren't going to take it anymore".I am suggesting a single mass rally at the liberal union paid for protest site-the mall in Washington D.C.,surrounded by our founders.Let's show the liberals what a million or more people really look like.I also humbly suggest the almighty plunger as our sign of solidarity.Joe the plumber galvanized this country more than any politician. His weapon of choice should be our symbol.Imagine a million plungers pushed high into the Washington sky as the President and Congress look into the future of socialism!Unclogging the commodes of our government, and take the damn RINOs down the toilet whith the rest.We will not need union buses or paid volunteers. This will be a genuine eye opener for both them and a feeling for us that we not only surround them,we own them.Let's roll America, before we get stuck in the socialist quagmire.

Mrs. AL

I fear here in Virginia, Mother of Presidents, we blew through our best people at the beginning of the Republic.

We are fresh out Washingtons, Jeffersons, Madisons and Monroes. Not a Randolph in sight!

John

I'll be attending the Virginia Beach Rally on the 15th. I'm going with a death of the constitution motif.

We're going to party likes it's 1773!!!

But, Sarge

I (pretend bold here) could be the next Patrick Henry...Give me liberty or give me death, damn it. Don't count me out, heh.

I was over at Brian's to paste the same link and PPhil got there first. It was soo awesome!! Daniel Hannan rocks!! I was clapping and woo-hooing like there's no tomorrow. Let's hope there are some cajones we haven't seen...
Meanwhile, April 15th is where it's at!!

Sgt Relic

I saw this guy many times today. This guy rocks. Actually someone standing up and saying how it is. Wow!

It would be nice if Congress opened the doors and let tax payers come in and ask them questions. I mean with all of this tranparency (made out of cement), go to the people!

By the way, I heard Obama is having a Town Hall tomorrow online. I guess this way no one will be able to see the JUMBOTRON prompter he will be reading from.

Yeah, I have to say

The first time I saw this -- and of course not knowing any of the Brit politicos -- I wondered if this was a scene from a movie. The guy's speech itself is not only awesome, but his delivery is like something done by the leading man at the climax of a movie.

Gaaawwwwd, it was great!

Where's the American version of this guy?

Oh...yeah.... I forgot. We already elected him; in 1980.

Nee

Patrick Henry, huh! I'm more of "give me liberty or I'll shoot you" kind of guy but the other way works too.

I looking forward to the 15th it looks as if this might be wide spread. I'm going to try and shoot some video to put on my blog and my son is going to handle stills.

Sue

Hannan was all over the place yesterday. When you're good people notice!

IMAO did a piece on the Jumbotron that was funny. Here's a link:

Brian

I love the Brits! They can rip you a new one and all the while remain utterly urbane and articulate.

Our pols do the "gentleman from New York" when they mean a**hole from New York so it loses it's impact. I'd like to see a Preston Brooks in the congress again.

Wow! What a Speech!

You are so correct, Sarge. Where are our "Daniel Hannans"?

The "urbane and suave" we don't necessarily need (after all we are the USA, we are the "cowboys"). But we need some one to stand up and "don't sugar coat it Sundance, tell her straight".

This man is impressive. I hope the UK recognizes this and elects him for PM. I even saw "traces" of Churchill in his delivery and choice of words.

Ghost

I agree. You really have to have the British accent to make that speech work. Harkening back to the era of Rue Britannia.

I recognize that we are the rustic colonials, which is why I was calling for another Brooks to cane a Sumner in the well of the congress.

That's the American way!

Sgt. Relic

How about Hannan for a Nobel Prize? Brilliant.

clyde

I wouldn't insult the man with a Nobel Prize. They'd probably have Gore give it to him!

Oh, wow!

Now THAT is "speaking truth to power!" Where indeed is our American version?!

Hannan no longer exists

in this country.
Politicians who could be as Hannan so fear they could be discredited ala Senator Joe McCarthy they keep their mouths shut. And remain politicians instead of rising to statesman..

Sgt.Relic

Hmmm..... good point.

"Sic Semper Tyrranus"...

Wasn't something like that supposed to have been said by John Wilkes Boothe when he shot Lincoln?

As for someone in our won Congress to speak up.

All we have in Congress are politicians.

That would take a statesman.

Interface

If he exists out there somewhere, I haven't found him. I guess first we need a Diogenes.

buck

We seem to be fresh out of statesmen right now, do you think it has something to do with the recession?

Sic Semper Tyrannis is the Virginia state motto popularly translated as "Thus Always to Tyrants" and depicts a slain king, crown toppled, with Victory's foot on his chest.

Booth was from Maryland but his sympathies were with the South obviously.

Sarge

No, I don't think the recession has anything to do with not having any statesmen. No...now waitaminnit...Had there been a few statesmen in Congress perhaps there would have been no recession.
But
The recession was caused by the slimy politicians who promised their constituents "more for less and free cheese" and to insure re-election they had to carry through on their promises.
No, the reason there are no statesmen is because it is easier for politicians to promise pie in the sky. And it is easier for voters to believe pie in the sky promises than down to earth policies and truths put forth by statesmen.

buck

And here I was thinking that we were just too broke to afford real statesmen. HaHa!

Our leaders have become isolated from the real world and are regularly exposed to a dangerous aphrodisiac, OPM! (other peoples money)

It's like the ultimate country club.
