Mormonism - Christianity's big Boogeyman
Give it a rest.
Your choice in '08 between secular religion and a conservative agenda that benefits evangelicals, Catholocism, traditional Judaism, equally will be between either Hillary or Obama and Romney.
Either you're a Catholic demogague or an analytical thinker focused on larger Conservative issues. Which is it?
As an ex-Mormon, conservative, I am not the least threatened by Mitt Romney's religion. Neither should you.

Ignorant Bigot
I'm for Mitt Romney for President. I'm also a "mormon". I make no apologies to anyone for that. I prefer "LDS" which is "Latter-Day Saint" when talking about my religion. I follow the same God and Jesus Christ like everyone else "Christian". I read the Bible (both Old and New Testament) and of course we have the Book of Mormon. There's nothing that our leaders or I myself preach or teach and learn that isn't taught in the Bible, and the Book of Mormon does nothing but teach about Jesus and the example of how to live our lives here on earth. Didn't Jesus teach us how to return to him? Or was everything he taught based on just how to live here, and after this good luck? After all why are we here except to learn not only where we came from but where we go.
I've learned a lot and I continue to learn a lot and I'm beyond happy because when I try to live my life like His (Jesus Christ who I believe is my Savior) and what He taught I find that that's when I'm most happy. I'm glad that I don't have to be called Christian because a lot of self proclaimed Christians come across as ignorant bigots who don't like "mormons" who love Christ but they'll try and go out of their way to show that they're not ignorant or bigots toward Muslims and other non-Christian religion believers.
The person who wrote this blog is a seriously ignorant bigot. This person will ask the very weak question, "am I lying?" and still be safe but anyone can quote words and not come across as lying. People do this all the time.
For anyone reading this interesting bit of toilet paper at best and really would like to see where this fool is sending you, which are usually places where they take quotes and twist words to work in their favor - please read them, all of them for that matter, I encourage you to. If you're smart which I'll bet you are then you'll please go to lds.org after for a more positive, different perspective. If you still agree with this ignorant bigot then at least I won't call you ignorant.
We have nothing to hide, it's funny that people say that our religion has something to hide but all you have to do is call your local LDS Chapel and visit or you can call the two young men or women in your area to learn all you want, no holds barred. If you're a professed biblical scholar or think that you can convert them out of it (they're usually between 19 and 23 years old and can still be convinced otherwise) then you're more than welcome. At least give them a chance to speak and above all things keep an open mind.

Factually Incorrect Romney Blog
I am frightened, truly, by the kind of thinking that is displayd in the above Romney/Mormon bashing and other entries written by this author. Talk about someone who is "in it" and "doesn't know it." Wow. It would be pointless to itemize the factual (and contextual)errors in this person's blogging. There are too many to deal with and I doubt thoughtful answers would make any difference. The reader must judge for himself. Does the hysertical tone and bold cult-conspiracy business really sound rational? It's almost patholgoical.
Regarding Mr Romney, I will consider the man based on his recent actions as a chief executive and his character (as best as a simple voter can). I will look for evidence of how his faith informs his decision making. I will examine the choices he has made in his life, how he has treated his spouse, and what kind of a parent he is (indirectly of course, by looking at the children's lives). I will look for the "fuits" of one living close to professed Christian ideals. This kind of scrutiny, by the way, should be given to all the candidates.

Mormonism
I was Mormon for 26 years. I can say that the article is pretty true, the only thing I would say is not correct is that the Mormon Church a cult.
It's not. It's just a very, very strict and religious church. It teaches it's prinicples and expects people to believe them and to follow them.
I believe that it is too controlling and does expect some incorrect things from and teaches some incorrect things to its members. That is why I left.
The thing about Romney is, how religious is he?
I do not believe the prophet would tell him how to run the country. He might say something about abortion and gay rights, but apparently Romney has changed his tune on these issues.
You now there's no way to tell about a person until she or he gets into office.
I would say that the Roman Catholic Church has made a lot of errors in the past. Many people look at it as an abomination before God. I think that we need to realize that churches are not perfect, and people can be good from either one.
However, yes, if a very religious Mormon, Catholic, or any other type of overly religious person runs for president, we will have a problem.
Feel free to email me if u have any questoins about the Mormon/LDS faith. Emailyv@yahoo.com
