Born to war

Again, an excellent blog. Thanks for your support and for the information. While I was aware of the "Fairness Doctrine" being pushed by the leftists, socialists and Democrats. I was not aware of the other issues. Fortunately the "Fairness Doctrine" has gone down in flames (for now) along with that idiotic shamnesty bill. Perhaps now "We the people..." can begin to hold our government's feet to the fire and get them to;
1. build the fence (a wall would be better)
2. take the money they had intended to use for all the idiotic provisions to make shamnesty work and actually put it toward border enforcement
3. look at our existing laws and see why they are not working (I have a suspicion that they might be easier to implement then we are being told)
Anyways, back to the matter at hand, one of the things I am teaching my children is that when we are born into this life is that we are automatically at war. Now I do not mean this literally, as in shooting and killing people with real guns and bullets but in two other ways;
1. the war of ideas-this is prevalent in everything that we read, that is said to us (such as advertising), or that we see.
2. the spiritual war-as a Christian I teach them that there is someone(satan)that is constantly at war with us and with others.
In the first instance I am doing my best to teach them how to be critical thinkers and to not buy into everything they read, hear and see. In the second instance I am teaching the basic disciplines of Christianity (prayer, Bible, fellowship and giving) as well as helping them to understand that our enemies are not people per se but someone behind them who uses them either knowingly or unknowingly. I also teach them that we all are imperfect and must all be careful as we Christians are not totally immune to doing the wrong things, i.e. we are all human.
Again, the whole point being that whether we like it or not we are in the middle of various wars at different times and we will need to learn to fight them in the diverse ways provided.
