Jason RE: Accountability
Just finished reading your entry. Really like it and agree. We are all accountable wether we like it or not and at some point we WILL have to answer for the choices we have made and continue to make. Keep up the good work!

So true
Your post is absolutely accurate. People are not held responsible for their action. Accountability is no longer a factor in life anymore. Just look at the bailout's going on. Thanks for your comment. come back soon.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly. We are accountable for what we do. Too bad our Pres-elect is the type who never likes to admit to having been wrong on anything. We will see very little accountability from him I fear.

That is a fading concept in our culture...we will see where we go in the next few years...
Many don't want to acknoweledge that our country was founded on the concept that God has endowed us with our rights, not the government.
The more people wanting government to give them everything, the more they as citizens lose accountability, and hand over their rights to demagogues.
It is going to take a lot of work to sell the idea that accountability and personal responsibility is the American way...especially right now...

Right On the money!!
The more the seperate church from "society"
and remove God, the more we the people, are more apt to adhere to a secondary authority = government. They than have more opportunity to make more laws, bills...etc. Giving them more opportunity to enforce this bigger government dependency to society.
Right On!!

One of the worst mistakes our nation has
made, is allowing socialistic ideology to be taught to our children, and the false idea that you do not have to face the consequences for your actions...
Fast forward to the present, and you will notice that those two things, are the basis for the maladies affecting our Nation.

I don't think our Congress even has heard the word accountability in decades. Or if they have, they have no clue what it means.
I am getting really tired of people taking no responsibility for their actions. There is always finger pointing going on, but no way, now how is it my fault. Getting really old.
Now I am just going to wait for my bailout money. My make $14,000 per year and bought a McMansion for $800,000 and I can't pay for it. It was not my fault. I had no idea what an ARM was. Ugh! Just kidding on this, but I have heard this so many time, my head is ready to explode.

Good post, man. We have been leaving personal accountability far behind in this country for years, now. We're about to push all responsibility for everything onto the Federal Government. Let's see how that works.
BTW, I am cutting C5 off at the Grill. He will be ignored from now on, and I would appreciate your help with that. I want to thank you for the backup you provided over there. You made a lot of good points. Maybe I'll include that string in a book I'm writing. "How to Argue With a Socialist Idiot or a Rented Mule." There ain't no difference.

Well, they had the NINJA loans going on, no job and no income and the qualified. How is that possible? How did they think that they were going to pay for them? I know there was pressure to give loans for houses, but with no job nor income, that just makes zero sense.
I know that Tubb Zones has passed away, but she really pushed hard for this. No speaking ill of dead.

Hi, Jason!
Very thoughtful post. I am a big believer in Karma, and, of course, accountability! Actions and associations do have consequences even if it seems that some get a pass and nothing ever sticks! Eventually, some little thing happens to bring it all to bare. Like what happened to John Edwards ....

Great post!
Our Constitution was written in such a way to hold people accountable for their actions and lives and we have completely lost sight of that fact. Our government is like a bunch of girls gone wild in Cancun: do what we please and screw the consequences! It can all be fixed with a frivilous law suit or to blame daddy for not taking good care of us (i.e. Bush).
We need more accountability and less tax payer sponsored programs.

Indeed,
We have become the " It's not my job" society.
Always pointing the finger, but not accepting any blame.....with no conscience to do so otherwise.

I know...it is hard to in this day and age, to not forget at times, with all the brainwashing that goes on. But when the red light goes on...and admitting "I blew it", learn from it , move on. That is the key...conscience kicking in.
If our conscience does not give us a kick in the side now and then.....its time to unlearn what we have learned lately.

Here is an example of this talk in real life:
About two weeks ago I got chewed out by a HUGE director in the department I work in. She's a powerful woman. Problem being, what happened was not my fault. It was poor training and lack of oversight by the person who trained me to do this particular report (which there were some problems with it).
I was told to own it and take responsibility, which I did. Which landed me a HUGE project out of it.
Oh well. That's life.

Another really great article.
Jason, would you drop a plug on my blog when you have a new article up or if you belong to the TH bloggers club that bobbie has going send an email.
I don't get the time I'd like to surf all the blogs so I'd like to know when someone has a new article up.
Thanks in advance.
On accountability. This is so timely and appropriate. Here we have a president elect who has not been the least bit accountable. We have a Congress who have not been accountable.
Yes, we all need to be accountable because we affect the lives of those around us, especially our immediate loved ones. We can start in the home as always.
My bigger question is when do the people who are supposed to represent us start to be accountable to us, the people?

I have been there as well, Fess up to your actions and accept responsibilty, then both your supervisor and you customer tee off on you. The supervisor may not like it, but the customer ends up respecting you for that.
If conservatives stick to our guns, will we ever get the respect we deserve??
