Question for those who know rules

Take a deep breath please

Lets not make this more difficult than it needs to be. This isn't rocket science.

The Constitution of the United States sets out the Qualifications to be President.

Article II,Section 1:

"No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

That's it in black and white. The constitution does not confer on Congress, the Courts, or the States (or me!!) the authority to set additional qualifications.

This is the fundamental problem with today's elected leaders and appointed judges. They routinely assume the Constitution confers on them authority to do things that it doesn't. Don't put yourself in their category by wishing additional qualifications just to get rid of a candidate you don't want to win

You and I may have no use for Obama but under the Constitution of the United States he is qualified to be President. So am I for that matter. Whether you would want him (or me) as President is a "hole nother story"

Oh-yes the Secret Service agent qualifications?

The Constitution does gives Congress the authority to organize the Government of the United States

Article I,Section 8

"...To make Rules for the Government and Regulation of the land and naval Forces;".

This includes the formation of the Secret Service and through legislation authorize the agency to determine the qualifications required for agents to perform their lawful duties.

Thanks Dave -- breathing again!

I so appreciate your LOGICAL and FACTUAL response. I'll work on the whole blood pressure issue. (I swear I'm a full-grown adult person).

now that you have taken a breath

You're right though, it certainly seems at odds, with common sense that the associations that would deny him enterance to the secret service woudl not deny him the office of POTUS.

Despite Dave's answer, which is factual and relavent, he ought to be disqualkifed for service based on that any many other reasons.

But then gain thats the beauty and horror of our system jsut about anyone can rise to the highest office in the land.

Now that we are breathing again.

VectorRector:

Glad to be of service.

And not that I actually disagree with you all that much about some of his ties . I too have to work on the "blood pressure issue" sometimes.

I have your answer

All things are possible with the Obamessiah. Didn't you ever read The Obama Bible, Book of the Genesis of Obama, chapter 13, verse 12? It's all in there man! Only the Obamessiah can find a way. And did you know that Palin is Pontius Pilate too? Everyone else is blinded to the Obama Truth.

Speaking of Rules

Perhaps there should be a rule that cracks down on politicians lying in campaign ads, such as in McCain's most recent sex ed commercial.

Perhaps there should be a rule that disqualifies VP candidates if they're currently under investigation for abuse of power.

Perhaps there should be a rule that disqualifies anyone involved in the Keating 5 Scandal.

Perhaps there should be an IQ test for the presidency. Or a test-off - Bill Clinton & Obama vs Bush & MsSame. Gee...I wonder which team would win that one.

Perhaps there should be a rule disqualifying a candidate if he cheats on his disabled wife more than once before divorcing her for another abled woman.

Perhaps there should be a rule disqualifying candidates who have exhibited a short fuse and is prone to anger (remember, they'll have that red button within reach).

Perhaps there should be a rule that if you continue to lie in public even though everyone knows it, you are disqualified.

Perhaps there should be a rule that you have to have actually rolled up your sleeves and spent some time with the poor for more than a photo op (Obama's valuable time as a community organizer, of which Christ was one as well) in order to qualify.

Perhaps if you agree with charging rape victims for post-rape testing, you should be disqualified.

Perhaps if you're into hunting wolves from planes you should be disqualified.

Perhaps if you had a tanning bed installed into the governor's mansion, you should be disqualified.

Perhaps THE TRUTH will reign and y'all will no longer fear the man with the plan.

God Bless and Good Luck to y'all.

Wow, Steve,

brainwashed by lefties much?
