That is the way many conservatives feel about their relationship with the RNC. Have we become the tokens trotted out at election time? In a word -YES.
It's no small wonder that party ID keeps dropping for the Republicans. American conservatives are opting out of the Democrat-lite dog and pony show when it comes to identifying with any political party.

Meanwhile the RINO's moan and belly-ache about party unity.
Party unity be d*mned!
Why vote Democrat-Lite when you can vote for a Democrat?
Either the Republican Party goes Conservative, or in a short time the Republican Party will lose its "numbers" and become a 3rd party.
The majority of the people want Conservatives. If the Republican Party does not provide them, the people will find (or build) a party that will.
