Enjoyed you post. As a former educator, let me expose the lie on funding and NCLB.

NCLB was the largest federally funded education program in history. The Department of Education (DOE)distributes funds to state DOEs.

THE STATE DOEs choked on the funds distribution. You probably know that un-spent federal funds are returned to the Federal government. When federal funding is returned, the Congress lessens the funding allocation in the next fiscal year. As testing requirements went up and annual yearly progress (AYP) was reaching critical mass, less funding was available. This is exactly the outcome the teacher unions wanted.

NCLB was hated by educators because their performance appraisals were directly tied to test results of their students. Prior to NCLB, performance appraisals were based on how cozy the Principal and the teacher were at the time of the appraisal. Performance appraisals are the key to tenure, pay raises, better classrooms, less extra dutiess etc.

Hi, Mike! Great post! I also heard these remarks of Joe`s during the debate and have since been looking for more exposure. Did see something on Redstate. Obama is having the time of his life running for POTUS. He does not want to work and his record shows he never has!!! He has staff. I really dislike and distrust this media creation of Obama. Thomas Sowell wrote another excellent column today. It made me smile!
