You are quoting from something that is ancient. Fortunately, science has advanced considerably in the last 80 years.

The published, peer reviewed research is unambiguous and compelling. Sexual orientation is biological in origin. The extraordinary efforts of religious fundamentalists to dispute the accepted science on this issue are consistent with endeavors to prove that the earth is 6,000 years old.

People find the hardest thing to do in life is face themselves. Psychiatrists are no different. If a person is suffering from homoerotic compulsions, it is MUCH EASIER for a shrink to keep him as a patient blaming his anxieties on a mis-understanding culture, whose views the patient has internalized. This makes for LOTS of PATIENT$. Very Modern Money (lol).
