I have, as usual, been checking for tools to help us in a take-back. The one impediment that seemed insurmountable was federal firepower.

How could a legal, constitutionally mandated arrest of those whose boot heel was on our neck take place if the armed forces were called against us?

I then found soldiers who were thinking about that also. A large group were agreeing as to their responsibilities to the oath they swore to protect the Constitution and the people at

http://oath-keepers.blogspot.com.

I believe that, if necessary and there is an absolutely valid situation for it, they will have our backs and obey the Constitution.

Hope is only valid as a tactic when you have exhausted all available avenues toward the goal and success is in the hands of Divine Providence. Hope is then a valid act of faith, and I hope these vets and active duty soldiers mean what they say.

Glenn

Legally, you're right, Glenn

The military takes an oath similar to other members of government, to protect and defend the Constitution, not just take orders from the C in C.
Remember Tiananmen Square, where they had to bring a division from Xian or someplace as the commander of the People's Army in Beijing refused to send his troops us against citizens. Took an extra few days to get them deployed.
The role the military will play will be key, so i think the Gang of Ten are working on plans to insure the right people and troops are in place.
It juts depends on who comes up with the smoking gun first. I always worry about nut jobs.
Watch your topknot.

By the way, Glenn

I'm glad to see you're thinking analytically. Most people don't. In your mind you always have to have a Plan B, C, D etc, based on what-if's.
We do that for a living in other sectors but are no better than you in this current struggle.
We use the tools we have, eh?

I'm told..

...That in several agencies, FBI. Justice, there is a rising spirit of...do we support and defend the Constitution, as some oaths require, or do we do the bosses' (plural) bidding.
Be watchful. There is hope yet inside the bureaucracy. It's that dwatted oath again.

VB

I doubt, if the military obeys their oath, that any agency still loyal to the elected officials could stand against the First Marine Expeditionary Force.

A bit of humor, or attempt at such.

Glenn

Glenn:

we know that there are conversations going on inside not only DoD, but DOJ, CIA, and others about their loyalty oaths.
And yes, some do take it very seriously, enough to make those who don't constantly looking over their shoulders.
On that point I am not worried too much for awhile at least. The new "militia"? Praetorian Guard was supposed to be the ones who handled the nasty stuff, but they won't be on line for awhile, and I believe there will be an attempted citizens' gun roundup first.
It takese awhile for those things to develop, which is why what the Left seesm to be attempting to do, a coup d'etat in baby steps, requires such delicate and timely maneuvers. So far, they've been a little ham-fisted. Time will tell.
