The Misunderstood Conservative: Liberal Misconceptions about Conservatives PART 1 - POVERTY

you missed something

I think it was a very good article, but there was one thing missing and that is the view point of the "less fortunate". By in large, I find that those who were born into poverty are happy with the situation they find themselves in. As pointed out by an aunt who worked in the Social Services department in her area. She stated that many of the women who came in to collect their checks were perfectly happy to ignore her suggestions of classes to help them improve their situations and simply take the government handout because that's what their mother's and grandmother's had done. How do we as conservatives help people like that?
Not only do we have the problem of trying to help them, but liberals seem to think that this is good enough and I find they are rather naive in thinking that everyone who is "less fortunate" is unhappy with their situation and wants to be helped out of it. Obvious some people are happy with their "less fortunate" situation and are unwilling to change it for any reason. Throwing money at the situation is not always the right or best solution, at least for these women.
