No they won't have the restrictions that the military has simply because they are not considered military, even though they will act in force like a military. That is the ruse.

I came across an article that discussed Obama's desire to press everyone, regardless of age, into 'service' for the country. I regret that I have misplaced the news article. However, I was shocked at the description of Obama's concept. It did not seem voluntary but a requirement. I was further shocked that those 'serving' would wear 'uniforms'.

I will make a search for the article, which had quotes from Obama. To the best of my memory, it was an AP story. Are you familiar with it?

I believe there's a new bill in Congress that, if passed, would look at the possibility of making public service mandatory. It would also look at the possibility of establishing a public service academy to train our youth (can you say indoctrinate) for public service.

What I read about had NO age exemption and specifically stated that there would be things that older workers would be doing. While one's golden retirement years may not always be so golden, it appears, now, that they will be spent in a uniform 'serving' in some way.

just scares my socks off. When I think of Obama's "Civilian Expeditionary Workforce", visons of ACORN come to mind. Obama always associates himself with the dregs of radical society so I do not feel at all comforted by this scenario. We'd better get on a stick and DO SOMETHING while talk radio, the internet, tea parties and groups around the country still enable us to communicate and band together to take our country back from these commie criminals. There exists a point of no return out there and I hope we don't wake up one morning and find it's already behind us.

This sounds like it is intended to get around the Posse Comitatus law preventing use of the military for law enforcement. This also sounds like it links in with the "rumors" of the "camps" that were beomg constructed around the country.

This whole thing is beginning to sound less and less paranoid.

I am back from Spring Break (Gatlinburg, TN). The "recession" has hit East Tennessee pretty bad from what I could see and hear. Unemployment rates in this area are approaching 10%.

Garnet92 made an interesting observation about "volunteers". Along these lines I wonder if the the "Brown Shirts" will be drawn from the ranks of the unemployed. Presently these people are not really desparate, with their unemployment probably only recent. But after 6 or 9 months, who knows?

Obama would be following in the "footsteps" of FDR, with a CCC or WPA program with his new "para-military" force. (BTW, both the CCC and the WPA had a "military" command structure.)
