Calvin

My understanding of Calvin is that Calvinism was created after his death- I'm not talking about Calvinism, but Calvin's actual sermons. Maybe you'd like to read them before commenting?

Cool

Then you are more educated in Calvinism than I am- I apologize if I came across as arrogant. My point was:

Apart from the calvinism issue you mentioned, I thought his Beatitudes sermons were inspiring. I don't recall there being anything particularly "Calvinistic" about them, but I'll look next time I reread them.

If you're interested in more discussion on Calvin, let me know. I'm open minded to your feedback on this:

True, Jesus died for everyone, but each person has to accept Him personally to get salvation. The fact is, not everyone will accept him. Those sheep who are not the shepherd's will not listen to his voice (John 10:3-4, 10:14-18). Knowing this, and in light of an omniscient God, how can you not conclude predestination?

Also see Romans 9:20 - is this not an assertion of God's omnipotence and the possibility that he marked some people for eternal damnation?

Tough ideas to be sure, but how do you answer them scripturally?

All the best,
Brian
