Goosebumps...

and Amen! I love when you do this!! Really and truly! Thanks...

Very nice, Scottie!

You capitalist, profit-mongering, exploitative, rich, undertaxed, slumlord, you.

Brian

Thank YOU kindly as well. Leave it to friends to portray you in your most flattering light.

Very nice indeed

Right focus...

BTW, where do you rent out, what schools, if you don;t mind sharing.

Very good.

As I mentioned, I went to DePauw, nearby Terre Haute.

Eastern Illinois, huh... Good stuff.

Amen too

It's good to see that some of us are thankful for what we have.Indeed,it has been hot here(Ohio) also and as hot as it's been,I can't imagine what it's like to be in Iraq this time of year in full battle gear in 100+ degree heat every day.God blees our soldiers and you also Scottie for reminding us all....

Perhaps the greatest sin is to be ungrateful for the blessings we've been given. I hope to never commit that sin...again.

Don't it always seem to go
you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.

Shameless blog plug time!

building wealth?

heck...my payments from my tenant cover the mortgage of the house, plus a couple of cases of beer per month...we're not renting it for profit, just to keep it until we move back into it!

Crawfish

Isn't your house value increasing over time?

Aren't the mortgage payments you are making from the rent lowering your overall debt?

Don't you get a nice tax deduction from your property at the end of the year?

Whether you intend to create wealth or not, you in fact are; you are making money from an investment that pays you even though you are not there working. Once your income from properties exceeds your income requirements, you don't have to work as an employee anymore. That is wealth.

Shameless Plug

I have a new post on my blog. "Gay And Republican". Stop by.

Scottie

well.....property values ain't going up much, since that area has been exploding with new homes being built. We bought new in 99, and there was a lot of open land in that area. The land ain't open no mo.

Crawfish

And the rent you apply to the mortgage isn't lowering your debt and increasing your equity in the house? And you aren't getting any tax benefit? And property values are going to remain flat indefinitely as development soars?

If there is no benefit to owning the property and renting it, you should sell it immediately and cut your losses.

Or maybe you're just being short sighted in your analysis because you don't realize the power of real estate to generate real wealth over time.

Jeff

Been there, left a comment.

Interesting concept

Thanking God for what he has provided and not coveting what others may have. Now that is a humble Christian attitude, easy in concept, yet difficult to accept and implement. I hope many others follow your example and thank our Heavenly Father for the many blessing bestowed upon us.

I find that counting my blessings is the best medicine when I'm overwhelmed. Thanks for stopping by; don't be a stranger.
