Political Conversation with a Friend

I try to read all the Mississippi "blogs" regularly, but I got behind because of work and my daughter graduating from college, so I missed yours of last week.

However, I don't know your age (mine is 56); but I have learned that 95% of the liberals in this country are the most hate-filled bigots I have ever seen. Growing up as a white male in the 50's and 60's in Mississippi, I saw the KKK types all the time. Most were Democrats.

My father (who was not real happy with the civil-rights movement, but helped protect a small black church from being burned) told me that one of the reasons he changed from being a Democrat into being a Republican was that he could not "buy" the hate and prejudice evident with the Democratic Party of this state. I also recall that most of the people that were supporting the civil rights movement were Republicans.

I believe that the hate and prejudice stayed with the Democrats; but now its on the "left" instead of the "right".

Blog

I try to read the MS blogs also, although I am new to this website and this is the first blog I have ever created. So thank you for reading and commenting.
I am a little younger than you are (47 this year)but of a similar viewpoint on the hatred of the liberal left. This friend I mentioned here used to be a great guy - but now he can't seem to be able to cope with being in the same room with me; mostly because I don't hate the president. I also grew up with the KKK all around and listened to my parents and others bash blacks, jews, catholics, and any one else that was of a different persuasion than themselves. And, at times, I experienced a little "belt" for having black friends and such.
But, through God's grace, things are changing somewhat. I still see prejudice around me although most of these liberals are not quite as open with it, in public anyway.
