You nailed the fatal flaw in the socialist view: it is based on mans wisdom-not Gods.We were created indavidually to make indavidual choices--good or bad to recieve duly from them.The key here is indavidual LIBERTY!!. The Godless Soviet Union failed because of their oppression of indavidual liberty,Cuba is still suffering and the people of Venezuela are just waking up to the junk Hugo Chalvez is pulling. selective. Capitalism doesn't work for all, in fact, it hasn't been working here for decades. What we have had is state sponsored businesses and that was prior to the economic crashes of 2008.

The only thing that is "free" in free market capitalism is set of those who, because of money earned mostly by exploiting some worker class have become a player, with the most wealth. Everyone else is made to suffer.

Well written. I don't think we are going to recover our American identity because of the time we are living in and the sleeping masses that patron the booths in November. In order to have these things written in the Bible to come true, America will have to be severely weakened. In Australia, which is one of our chief allies, one must have a degree in the culinary arts before they can open a business to sell bagels. It's worse in most other countries. We're definitely headed in that direction. Asking Caday to read your post again and educate himself isn't going to happen. He's not going to educate himself about something he already knows and look at an opposing view with any desire of admitting his previous position might be wrong. Well, it seems that while many Americans understand your post, as we all do, many more nowadays think all this stuff about freedom, liberty,responsibility and yes, patriotism is just ssoooooossooo old fashioned. And I don't mean philosophically. On Snow's other blog, you didn't know the word "world" in Matthew 24:3 was actually the Greek word "aion" which is their word for age. Instead of saying "woops, I got it wrong", you tried to come back that there are different applications to the Greek word "aion" than just age, which is true only by implication from men. Of course you didn't simply say "I got the word translation wrong". You tried to explain that somehow you were right and that I was wrong for knowing what the actual Greek word was. I mean, that's some astounding unwillingness to admit you're wrong. Then going along with your diversion, I asked you a question. What I asked then, which you have no answer for (not a new trait for you) is why in Matthew 24:3 the word for world is "aion" but most other times the word for "world" in the Greek is the word "cosmos" or "oi-KOU-men-ay", which both mean the world without any implication by men. As my friends say, the only time they use the word "aion" or anyone they ever hear of, it's for the word "age". They as well as everyone they ever knew use "cosmos" for the word "world". Do you ever use the word "age" by implication meaning the world, Caday? Didn't think so. Neither do the Greeks. With our discussion, I asked. It's just a lack of understanding by men that made them assume by implication it meant "world", when the Greeks clearly had another word for "world". Ahh those traditional teachers and thinkers again...

Jesse I could not have said it myself. Caday here is on other blogs sprouting his drivvel. Government is not the only idol one can worship. The individual can serve as a false God as well. The Jews in the OT were warned not to take credit for their success. They were also warned not to ignore those in need.

In addition, our history tells us that much of our success is due to the oppression of others.

My own claim is that it is HUMANKIND that bears the flaw, and I name that flaw as SIN. There is no system devised by mankind that cannot be abused, because no man is free from sin. In your own statement about regulation, "Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?"

As men stand now, only a system designed and administered by something other than mankind could possibly succeed - and that's if the broken nature of the world itself didn't interfere.

We have some agreements. WHat we need to watch for is the accumulation of power. In socialism, that can occur in the public sector. In capitalism, that can occur in individual pockets of the private sector. We need checks and balances so that there is accountability for all.

What we need to do is support all who work for both individual opportunity and for sharing with others. We need a hybrid as Martin Luther King often said knowing that whatever kind of system we pick or choose, it is flawed and thus must always be open for revision.
