Saint or Traitor?

I'll have to opine

that the demise of Teddythedrunk (D-Chappaquiddick) was about 76.99 years late.

Crawfish

Very succinctly stated, sir!

One of the goals in whatever life His Oneness allows me is to make sure that, at least in some degree, the traitorous actions of Teddythedrunk (you should copyright that) are never forgotten!

Thanks for dropping by.

In My Opinion....

All of the Kennedys were enemies of America.

In my Opinion....

Donnie, I sometimes wonder about JFK in that context. I was not a supporter of his, but I have to admit, looking at it now, he apparently had a streak of real patriotism about him.

His "Ask not what ... but what you can do for your country" was the direct philosophical opposite of everything every one of the other Kennedys practiced. Was it only words for him, but some things like that prevent me from totally lumping him with the old Nazi sympathizer and Ted the traitor.

Thanks for the visit!

JFK's political career

should have been destroyed before it began. The loss of PT-109 was an act of pure negligence by the Commanding Officer, LT John Fitzgerald Kennedy. How you can let a very quick and maneuverable PT boat get cut in half by a destroyer is incomprehensible unless you are literally asleep at the wheel. It's not like the destroyer was being very quiet and sneaking up on them. If Captain McVeigh of the USS INDIANAPOLIS could be brought up on charges for having his ship, which was unescorted in violation of standing orders, sunk by a submarine that the area commander should have warned him about, then why not charge JFK?

JFK's political career

Crawfish, you must be mistaken about the PT-109 story. That is not at all what the movie showed..

Thanks for the reminder. Tat does put a contextual frame around the story, doesn't it? Somehow, little details like that get lost or re-written over time.

A little personal story: The day before JFK was assassinated, the Young Republicans at my school were conducting a survey. The single question they asked was "What do we need to do to improve Government?"

Being a young smart-a$s in those days, I wrote in "Get rid of Kennedy" Needless to say, I was expecting a visit from the Feds at any time for the next three or four years.

Thanks for taking thhe time to drop by. Your comments are greatly appreciated.
