Comment on: DIG THIS

Hey Hillary, knowing what you know now, what WOULD you have done?

Have you no shame?

What is wrong with Consistency?

Can I inquires to exactly what she is saying differently now, than before? When she voted to authorize force, she stipulated the reasons and her intentions. She laid out a case that war should be the last resort and all effort should be to a peaceful solution that ended up with full compliance to the U.N. While she did not discount the eventual use of force or an all out invasion, she has a valid case that the president broke or ignored her stated reasons for her vote of authorization. While those stipulations were not binding, they are an indication of how she thought we should move forward. For her now, to say, “if I knew then what I know now,” is a completely legitimate statement. I suggest you read the speech she delivered while voting to authorize force. There is no difference to what she is saying today. If she, like many others, had been listened too, maybe we would not be in the quagmire we are in today.

A link to the speech is on my blog, the post titled “Misused Quotes…”

I would be interested in your thoughts of what she said then.

I would add to this that there is absolutely nothing to associate Hillary Clinton with terrorist. Maybe you do need therapy, being that you would make such a claim. If you do, and you should, read Hillary’s speech authorizing force, you will see a strategy for success. Yes, it does us little to go back and say, “We could have done better.” But, that does not mean we should not debate how to move forward.

This administration has made a mess. There are no easy solutions for the Middle East, but to follow blindly the administration that has so completely bungled the job is assuring failure.

Now is the time to start listening. Just posting irrational and wholly ignorant rants about Hillary do us no good.

Unless you despise Democracy, you must realize that the people of this country just demanded change. To ignore this is the ultimate in being un-American.

Hillary’s Speech was Legitimate

Hillary’s Speech was Legitimate

What if I told you it really doesn’t matter where the weapons went? I have never accused Saddam of being a good guy. I have merely been against the methods in taking him down. It hasn’t helped, and has made it worse. If there were or were not WMD, or if they have been smuggled out of Iraq or not is a moot question. If they have been smuggled out and indeed, are in this country—a surge in Iraq will not protect you.

No one is calling for giving up. No one is calling for surrender from the Actual Terrorist. We are calling for better sense in our policy. A coherent strategy and a more moderate plan will have a better chance of success. We have not failed- yet. But to continue with brute force without diplomacy in the entire Middle East can only make matters worse. One more surge in Iraq brings you no security here and it degrades the chances of success there.

A change in course is necessary. Irrational claims about Hillary Clinton will not protect you either. Like it or not, she is in a position of power in this Country. She is running for president. So are many others. It would do us all good to lay down arms and listen to what they actually say and not surround it in conspiracy theory. The strategy Hillary laid out in that speech, the methods of how to move forward, are more in tune with my own thinking. Like it or not, it represents of lot of people in this county and we are not the enemy. But through division the enemy will win.

Bush had his chance; he distracted us from the real War on Terror, left Afghanistan in chaos, brought us to Iraq under questionable intelligence, and destabilized the Middle East. It is time to listen to someone else.

A secondary thought after hitting post

I posted that on my blog to, just to keep the conversation straight in my mine. lol... just to let you know.

I do think the conversation in general, and this one, should continue, but in a more reasonable manner.

Fighting amongst ourselves will not help.

Ben:An analogy from your perpective

It could be that we busted a collision course asteroid (Husseine...sp?) into many still dangerous fragments. I would rather deal with them out in space than dodge them as they hit ground(and they would have even if we had never gone over there). These people have nothing but oil and a twisted version of an inherently violent religion. They see us as violators of their religion, yet at the same time(which indicates their sanity) are insanely jealous of our standard of living. Sure some are rich from the oil money, yet most would not have a job if they were not a terrorist. What do you think they are going to do if we let them do what they want ( which is convert us or kill us)? How can you negotiate with that? I would much rather leave them alone, but I do not believe they will leave us alone.....ever.
