Revelation 20 and the Comfort of the Church – Binding of Satan

This article is to begin to apply the comments about Christ’s kingdom doctrine under the ‘Forgotten Liberty’ article to an exposition of Revelation 20.

What do you mean that NT is authoritative commentary on OT from the reference to Rev 21?

The Church is described as the holy city in Revelation 21. The foundation of the city contains 12 stones for the 12 apostles. This is plain enough that there is no other foundation other than Christ and the apostolic testimony, given to the churches in the NT.

Still there is the gross error of apostolic succession leading to the extra Biblical authorities and writings like RC traditions and popery and Mormonism. These are all at variance with John’s vision of New Jerusalem given to him as the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Note that the gates to the holy city bear the names of the 12 tribes of Israel. This symbol confirms the NT testimony that the Church is true Israel; that the OT nation of Israel was a type of the NT fulfillment of the New Covenant Church as the glorious Kingdom of God on earth during the millennium.
