I think Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter support the fair tax as well. The bottom line, however, I think comes down to the size of government, not how we choose to rearrange the chairs on the Titanic. In addition to repealing the 16th amendment, the time is ripe to also place a price ceiling on federal taxes, preventing taxes from ever exceeding that level or percentage. We also need a balanced budget amendment and a line-item veto too. As for the Fair Tax, my only concern is that these rebates seem an awful lot like homework, i.e. paperwork. I don’t know about you but I don’t like paper work. I’d rather see us unite to kill the welfare state than fight over a tax neutral method of more fairly taxing folks. The government is too big and is doing things the founding fathers neither intended nor any amendment provides an ounce of authority for. Try looking up the 9th and 10th amendments and just marvel over how strenuously both James Madison and Alexander Hamilton would strangle the likes of the Clintons and Bushs.
