Another Thoughtul Message
Well done. Hey, always feel free to comment on my blog, link to me, quote me, etc.
Comparing the "gay rights" movement, especially when it comes to the push to neuter marriage, and the struggle of "blacks" or "African Americans" is a joke (although highly effective).
Don't get me wrong - nobody should be assaulted or deprived of their property unjustly. It isn't okay to harass or assault or otherwise mistreat a person simply because he or she is homosexual.
But let's get real. Less than 150 years ago, a black person was considered property in this country. Property! They could be beaten, tortured, and killed - legally. For a century after emancipation, black folks were regularly denied voting rights and were segregated. People were so proud of lynchings they would take pictures of themselves at the scene. Anyone knew that a person was black as soon as they saw them, even from down the street.
The experience of homosexual people - while many have, over the years, suffered unjustly - simply doesn't compare.

You are absolutely right, Ken
Comparing homosexual rights movement to the civil rights movement borders on obscene. Homosexuals have experienced nothing like the oppression of black Americans.
Unfortunately, owing to time constraints, I could not detail the examples you have provided in your comment. I simply provided the link to a page with horrific examples of postcards with images of of lynchings.
