Making Abortions Rare

Such praise for the President does not impress my wife, who is granite-like in her pro-life position. Men and women "in granite." They all began at conception, according to Catholic and Christian and other religious teaching. Thus the grand plans Obama just laid out for long term growth and long term "sustainable health"--all of this is hollow, almost devoid of any real meaning or truth. What the President should be doing is working day and night, not for material benefits, but for truly long term realities, the basics of Truth and Life in the Catholic sense. Dont hold your breath. And, in the meantime, you and I have our work cut out for us just practicing basic human kindness, consistently, every day, whether at home, whether behind the wheel, or at work--where we spend most of our Time. (And by work I mean looking for work if we don't have it yet!)

Krauthammer Compliments Obama

Something to do with ethics and stem cell research: Dr. K had some good things to say about Obama's recent work in this area. So, I, too, compliment Obama and Company for following through on certain promises to try better to respect human life.

Social Justice and Obama

Catholics LOVE, I mean LOVE, President Obama. Not all. But millions--and not just the lay folks but the consecrated as well, including bishops, cardinals, and, for all I know--the Pope himself. (Not that our Holy Father or anyone else is FOR abortion.)

But real social justice, which Catholics, by and large, support...begins with the Eucharist, i.e., with personal holiness. This is what makes all the difference in the world!

Just look at the lives of Mother Theresa, John Paul the Great, Therese of Lisieux, Padre Pio, Josemaria Escriva--and our current Holy Father. Sainst all. Saints all.
