Bio Editor

I e-mailed some time ago about this issue, but since you ask: I can't get the bio editor to work. The info I have on my bio is almost two years old!

Also, the spellcheck (when you create a blog post) doesn't work.

Thanks Chris!

not working at all

parts of post disappear as I try to publish. no linking working either now. spell check has never worked right. plus the other issues I have noted before on older computers haven't been fixed.

White space

Why is there a large white space between the top of my blog roll and the title of the latest blog entry. How do I get rid of this white space?

Draft errors

I sent an email as well. Please check out my blog "In Proper Memorium: Edward Kennedy" on Mo's Musings. Can you tell me why the font size changes in the last paragraph and why that change does not show on my dashboard copy? It makes it impossible to correct.

Also, the copy/paste/insert function is a trainwreck. Anything intended to be inserted must be done at the end of the post or any font changes used in the insert dominate the remainder of the post and cannot be corrected. Could the use of an inserted text have caused the change in font size?

One more question: where does a posted blog go when it is posted but does not show up for quite a while? Is there some sort of vetting that takes place or is there a cyberspace Purgatory?

Color of letters won't work.

Also cannot change font size. The auto-editor for inappropriate language is a bit much. Should we as former veep Cheney to change his chosen name to "Bruce"?

Clumsy

This is a CLUMSY, cliunky and dumb, difficult to use, unfriendly, posting site. It's hard to get around. To see what an easy to use site looks like go to Google's blogspot.com .... easy and smart.

The word d*ck

I know that sounds crude, but I can't type out the 1st name of our former (and greatest) vice president's 1st name! Help! I can't help it's what the guy's name is.

Errors

My bio editor refuses to display.

The Blogroll editor won't display.

I continually get logged off of Townhall when reading the columnists' articles.

I also have the same problems Maureen and Greg, above, spelled out.

I am not as unhappy as Melvin, but have the same feeling as Absolutely Nobama about the censorship of certain words. Some is needed, but any occurence of an "s" followed by the letters "hit", even in "Wish it were true" is a bit overboard.

And, as you know, there is no real SPAM prevention, only you and I.

Glenn

Well,

"Wish it were true" seems to be allowed.

Fancy that!

GF

Not so much an error...

...as a currently absent but desired feature: BlogPost ARCHIVES for all the blog templates. Currently, some have it and some don't, and it is not apparent why. Since I have the two column bold, the background being what it is, I have some previous posts in which I've changed font color for emphasis that would be virtually invisible were I to opt for a template that currently displays an archive.

Blog Roll

Cannot get it to work at all, have not been able to edit it almost since the beginning. Really would like to be able to. Thanks.

I'm with Rich Boomker

I tried to use the Spell Check, and it objected to the spelling of every word I had typed -- including "the".

Does it think I'm Lillian Hellman?

Can't post links

I can't add hyperlinks. When I try here's what I do: select the text where the link is supposed to go, then click on the hyperlink button in the toolbar, and then paste the URL. Sometimes it ends up at the very beginning of the post, not on the text where it belongs. Other times it ends up appearing to go on the appropriate text (because the text is underlined), but that never stays. If I try to add another link, the first one disappears and the text is no longer underlined.

Thanks for your help

First ....

Thanks so much for providing this great venue for Conservative bloggers!

The only problems I have had are with the blogroll and bio.

Like that we are required to log on each day to purge those pesky trolls!

Insert function

I just ended up deleting a post because somehow it inserted text with a much larger frame, causing the text to overflow the page making it impossible to read because of the underlying texts outside the margin. When I tried to adjust the frame size it disappeared the entire inserted frame.

I don't want to sound like some harpy; I really enjoy the blog feature and want to thank you for offering it. I just think I'm not getting it or something is wrong.

Thanks,

Maureen001

Errors

I haven't used the "spell check" feature in months because it doesn't work.

I hate that the formatting I choose is sometimes ignored...why?

Not Working At All

Get page can not be found message when I try to add a blog posting.

Issues with formatting

Have repeatedly had text disappear when formatting. The only work around so far has been to go back to the saved draft -- OOPS forgot to save after typing in that last paragraph? Too bad. So sad. I ususally end up going into the HTML to edit format - a royal pain for those of us who have experience - a total loss for the average blogger.

Questions, questions, questions

Spell check still doesn't work, now, it checks every word...

Also, what is this "new" Click to edit me business? Advise soonest cuz I don't anyone editing anything I've written!!!

errors

I love Townhall, but there are problems . . . .

A. The ever-present blank space at the top of my blog seems silly.

B. You need to give bloggerssome sort of control of paragraph spacing

C. Often the program seems to decide for itself what the finished copy looks like. Font size changes; color changes; highlighting changes; the censor seems to act willy-nilly and does not realize that "_ick" with a capital "D" is not a profanity and the word "jack_ss" is perfectly legal. In fact, I had to redo the error comment post to remove the offending words as according to your program: "This comment contains the following unacceptable words: _ick jack_ss."

Nevertheless, I love Townhall, thanks.

Errors

Some of my best work appears on these pages - my blogsite. Three of the current articles I posted were written for reputable publications. In each case, I was offered significant compensation but withdrew the articles since they had already appeared here.

Given the controversial nature of my work, I invariably receive all kinds of responses and sometimes hate mail.

How is it possible that no one here...NO ONE...reads any of my work? Townhall promotes blogs that read like they were written by illiterates. "What's Hot in the Blogs" has a ton of influence on the readership here. My work is invisible?

Do you need to beat people in the head when promoting the conservative cause? Does Townhall assume that readers cannot be impacted by a creative approach to conservative journalism? Your editorials are factual graveyards...mine are ignored.

ERRORS? I MADE THEM THINKING I COULD MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO THE CONSERVATIVE CAUSE. I'M DONE WITH TOWNHALL. YOU HAVE YOUR FAVORITES AND THAT'S THE WAY IT WILL STAY. HEAVEN FORBID YOU LIST MY BLOGS AS "HOT" IN YOUR POPULARITY CONTEST.

I'll take my wordbag somewhere else.

Sayonara.

Blog Roll

I finally began to list a couple of websites I like. When they published on my blog, they were topped by "[click here to edit]". I don't see how to take that out, and it looks hokey.

Thanks for your help.

my biography

I keep trying to update my biography but it will only publish the first 6 sentences or so and not the rest of it. I have tried numerous times but it keeps doing the same thing and I want to update my biography. Please fix this problem.

Thanks,

Allen Caeden

Cannot edit my biography

I agree with catmman, I also cannot edit my biography. When I try to do so it will only post the first few lines or so and cuts out the rest. I must have tried like 20 times but it always does the exact same thing. I currently have my bio blank for now, but I would appreciate it if you would fix this problem.

Please fix...

Please fix the "edit biography" section. There has always been problem with this section, can you please fix it already. There is a post on here from August 25 concerning the same problem and it has still to be fixed.

Posting Errors

I have written before about this but nothing has changed. The "New Post" Template functions perform magic tricks I have never seen before. It takes a lot of luck to get the colors you want; the font and type=size change constantly, requiring repeated backtracking to reset the preset, and page breaks...well, I've found that there is no way know where they are or how to get past them without the entire document fragmenting. Changing color is another mouse trap. Often, the text above the change also changes...you can trick your way around that by repeatedly correcting it, but it's a major hassle.

That template has never been stable.

This is not meant as a complaint - just an alert. The finished product is usually very good, despite the errors.

White space is driving readers away...

Several readers of my blog have commented that they visited TownHall and almost left because it appeared my blog was empty due to the massive whitespace before the start of the blog. Anyway to correct this? I know you don't want the ads competing with the blog entries, however it is ridiculous to have to scroll down several pages before the actual blog begins.

"Inappropriate Language: M*ta"

I receive that notice consistently when I try to post my insightful, conservative musings (such as http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=1320)

I NEVER use "inappropriate language," M*ta or otherwise!
