Good essay, thank you for reminding us all of the price tag for truly "walking the walk." I am more conservative than John McCain, although I have officially enlisted as a campaigner for his election. The role of very conservative Republicans should be, in my opinion, to influence McCain's policies, and continue in great vigilance,the best interests of our country's security and sovereignty are protected.

Oh, and welcome to the "mire" how lovely and image is that? ;)

Judging by your comment on "mire," you have read my bio. As a liberal Republican, I am happy to see that a conservative such as you is in the correct mindset - participation is better than non-participation. I for one welcome your participation as it is necessary to the well being of our world to have different perspectives in the mix.
