The Prius is Not Better for the Environment

Partial logic isn't cool either.

I suppose you have calculated in the cost of transporting all the traditional parts made in Mexico for all the other cars.

What if ten years from now, significant improvements have been made in battery capability? Have you heard of Vehicle to grid technology? There is the capability that at the bottom of a hill, like dropping out of the Sierras in California, the cars that had time could put the extra energy into the grid.

Are you relying for your info on the study that gave the life of a H2 at something like 30 years to make the environmental impact seem smaller?

And when the polar ice caps have finally completely melted, can we come to you climate change deniers and ask for an explanation, why we did nothing while we could have?

Why don't you think up another reason why corporate America is innocent of trying to profit while the environment we all have to share is ruined. When there is no more profit to be made, only a huge mess to clean up, can we go to the corporate execs, to their homes in Aspen, and ask them to pay us back?

Partial Logic Indeed

That's the point of the hybrid, it's batteries and an engine. Batteries degrade over time and then need to be replaced. My original question still remains: What do you do with all the dead batteries?

Thank you for bringing up that wonderful, enlightening article about the overall cost and life of a hybrid versus its nemesis the Hummer. While it doesn't necessarily relate to the issue over the hybrid's batteries, the points brought up in the article do lend support to the case against hybrids in general.

As to the religion of global warming, it is merely a poorly substantiated hypothesis and should be treated as such. One thing many global warming advocates fail to take into account is that medium dwarf star about 8 light minutes away that gives us most of our heat and energy. Then again, blaming the Sun gets neither grant money or media attention.

The grid idea is somewhat interesting, but I don't like the idea of the electric energy that would be needed to transfer the power from the car to the power lines. What would stop that same energy from going to other places than the power lines? Nice in theory, but dangers in practice.
