Gays and Marriage

gay marriage

I saw a tabloid that reported that Brad Pitt was not going to marry Angelina Jolie until everyone had the right to marry. What these people don't seem to get is that everyone does have the right to marry. Each and every person in this country can marry once they reach legal age, it's just that they have to marry the opposite sex.

There is a lot of misuse of terms and phrases and it makes it appear that gays have less rights than everyone else. The truth is they have the same rights, we're just not willing to re-write the laws to accomodate their immoral behavior.

Great post, keep up the good work!

Great article.

Thanks for the informative article. Good stuff, I wish more would read your material.

No place for government

Marriage is no place for government. Getting married is a consensual act and harms noone. That the government has decided to get into the middle of it and say who can or cannot engage in this consensual act is an offence against liberty and not an attack against the libertine. If two people want to get married and they happen to be the same sex, what business is it of yours or the State's?

If two people were of the same sex and you denied them marriage and one of them has sex reassignment surgery so that they are now legally of different sex, would you still deny them the ability to engage in a consensual contract between themselves that does no harm to others?

Marriage should be neither punished nor rewarded by the State. The State has no business getting involved in consensual agreements between adults.

If you think the State needs to be involved in marriage, then why doesn't the State have a right to tell you how you can raise your children, how many children you can have, or even what gender your children are allowed to be? Once you allow for them to get into the middle of marriage, the camel's nose is already in the tent.
