Do Republicans Hate Grandparents?

Bro

You already know what I think of the Fed. I wrote an essay about it.

Hey moshe whats up?

I'm guessing you titled this thread what you did because you hate America...?

No, seriously, I imagine it has to do w/the fact that some serious bouts of inflation have hit during the reigns of Big Govt Republicans like Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II...putting a hurting on old folks whose fixed incomes are ravished by it due to loss of purchasing power.

Bingo!

And we have a winner!

How do you feel about sushi?

I remember reading somewhere once about how, historically, the economy did best with a democrat at the helm, but with a republican-controlled congress.

I was looking for a way to somehow quantify that when I ran across this chart. I think it illustrates it pretty well.

We have to remember what money is, after all. It's simply a medium of exchange, a store of value. Purchasing power, in other words.

How can the economy be doing well when inflation is robbing people of their labor?

Today, the equity markets were down. And on TV, with the talking heads, it was all doom and gloom.

The headlines screamed: Markets fall as dollar strengthens. Oh no! The horror!

(There's usually an inverse correlation between stocks and the dollar.)

I'm thinking: huh?

You bring the sushi I'll bring the

Steel Reserve!

I'll provide the neocon retort:

Reagan wasn't to blame, it was leftover from Carter and the Democrat Congress he was sadled with.

Bush II wasn't to blame, either, it was the Islamofascists and liberal media's fault.

I don't believe Bush XLIII was at fault,

either.

9/11 wrecked our economy in ways the government won't tell you about.

My AMR (American Airlines) stock went from 50+ to today's 8-something almost overnight.

Right after 9/11 there were a few who predicted the economy was going to tank then no one mentioned the two together again....
