More on Miranda

I haven't read the articles, but I'm fully familiar with Miranda, the Geneva Conventions and the usual rules of warfare.

The idea of giving these captives Miranda rights is preposterous.

But then, I find pretty much everything Bat Ears does preposterous.

"You have the right to remain silent.... where's the bomb?"

The clown apparently doesn't know the difference between warfare and street crime. What a cretin.

Those are excellent reads, unfortunately, the ONLY ones who don't get it are the ones currently occupying the administration.Agree with Brian here,Obama's actions are pretty much preposterous. And the cluck is a lawyer??? Sheesh

Brian, read the articles if you get a chance. I found them very informative and I am highly reccomend them...and I really like and respect Andrew McCarthy. I think that guy is one of the better conservative legal minds out there, and that's saying something.

And yes...Obama is about the dumbest schmuck we could have seen elected president. He knows nothing and is too stupid to realize just how foolish he really is...and that's dangerous for all of us.

clyde, whoever said you had to be smart to be a lawyer? Have you seen how many lawyers are in Congress, especially the Senate? And we see the brilliance they convey every day!

Miranda

Just another example of the courts working in concert with the 'fuzzy-feeling doogooders' to legislate morality and stupidity. Leave morality aside for the moment as we are talking about Miranda. Excusing (legislating-legalizing) stupidity. You do a crime you are working on dumb. You get caught and don't know enough to ask for a 'mouthpiece' you have arrived! Where in the Constitution does it say we cannot put a perp behind bars simply because he is stupid enough to blab his offense to the cops?
Miranda is another "for your own good" law only most folks don't come across it every day like seatbelt and helmet laws. "For your own good" laws protect the stupid from the folly of their actions. Miranda protects the stupid criminal from conviction for his own stupidity..

That was about as succinct a description of Miranda as I've seen: Protecting the terminally stupid from their stupidity. You are dumb enough to get caught committing a crime and you need to have someone else tell you not to incriminate yourself! What a decision to make from the rarified air of the SCOTUS bench!
