Mitt Believes In Jesus Per Joel Osteen

Cotton Candy Theology

Osteen’s message is described as ". . . simple self-help message that congregants say is both uplifting and accessible. . ." Osteen proudly wears the title of "the smiling preacher." His theology has been described as "cotton candy" theology – tastes good – but no substance.

Miguel Diocuore, your posts are

like brine-salty-but too salty. It appears you have a devine grasp of theology...of Christians and Mormons. I will wager you know a bit about Mary, Mother of Jesus. Until you present your document of Doctor of Theology...I will assume your name is in assume.

I don't know about

Osteen. I remember that, when he was interviewed by Larry King a year or so ago, he couldn't bring himself to state that faith in Jesus is the only way to salvation. I think he apologized later (after being severely criticized), but I don't believe I would want to sit under his "preaching". Therefore, any opinion he has regarding this type of matter is suspect, as far as I'm concerned.

Osteen / Romney

All O'Steen's comments demonstrate is the shallowness of his theological basis. He's pretty clearly not been exposed to -- or worse has chosen not to take seriously -- teachings from the LDS church which render meaningless his "believes in Jesus just like I do" comment, as the primary issues is that the definition of who Jesus is, between the two groups, is inconsistent, the very basis for the application of the "cult" title to Mormons.

Romney appears to be a good man and quite well qualified for the position. If he wins the nomination I will support him as opposed to Hilary. But rendering unto Caesar what is Caesar's -- respecting the process for civil government that is set up in our country -- does not change God's rules and rendering to God that which is God's. Romney may be President, and a fine one. That doesn't change the fact that unless he has a change of heart heaven is not in his future.
