The Treaty of Tripoli, signed by many of the same men who drafted not only the Declaration of Independence but the Constitution and ratified without dissent in the presidency of John Adams states that we are not a Christian nation. While majority Christian, our government and nation aren't Christian. Some founders were Christians but founders like Madison, Jefferson and Paine were deists. Not Christians.

I suggest you take a closer look at our founding fathers and their writings. 53 of 56 signers to the declaration of Independence were christian. Yes, we were founded a christian nation. Not from the standpoint of the government telling how or who to worship, but our principals, values, and faith. Lastly, you are reading the wrong history books, read their own writings, I think I would rather take their word than someone writing about them, they were christian. thomas Jefferson stated it best in 1781. "I treble for my country when i recall that God is just, and his justice can not sleep forever". HAPPY READING, GOD BLESS.
